Where was Lehrer looking when this happened? Some FReepers have said that Leher looked at Kerry and did nothing...and that President Bush had a very disgusted look on his face. I have an extremly slow connection and can't get the videos to play, so I can't give my own opinion.

I have been a Freeper a lot longer than 2 weeks (like you), Einstein. My record and status as a Freeper in good standing speaks for itself.
Now why don't you apologize?

Our guy got whipped. Let's hope he learned a lesson.I agree with you that the President should be rested and thoroughly versed in the issues for these debates, too.

"Fox news did not say anything about this - reportedly they just aired the video in the background showing Kerry taking something out of his pocket -= while talking about polls or something."
Thanks, wanted to make sure I had my facts straight...

Then you must like pain if you watched enough to give us a blow by blow description. You almost sound masochistic about this. Quit beating yourself up and ask yourself why you dwell on this negativity. In case you haven't noticed, the debate has been all over the news and talk shows.
Unlike some people I am not going to hide my head in the sand and pretend it didn't happen.
Of course, if you don't like my post then by all means feel free to ignore it.
You're not obligated to respond.
Unless of course you are masochistic. (sarcasm/off)

I really don't think that the perception to others that he lost (He didn't) was intentional. I think it was the fact that Bush and his team knows someone like Kerry will always shatter themselves with their own words.
And, watch the "Town Hall" Bush/Gore debate again. Candidate Bush made those faces then as well. I watched it the day before last week's debate.
I can find the link if you want.

The paper Kerry took from his pocket was so obvious I assumed both candidates were permitted to bring notes to the podium.
Once a lying cheat; always a lying cheat.
And memo to Dick Cheney -- DO NOT MAKE LIGHT OF THIS DURING YOUR DEBATE. It will trivialize the accusation.

Let's hope Bush is not directing the actions on the battlefield (he's not). The last president to do that was LBJ in Vietnam, with disastrous consequence The CIC should be well aware of what's going on in Samarra. More importantly he should have overall final judgement on how we take back these places such as Najaf, Samarra, Sadr City and Fallujah. It's too important a decision for him not to.
In fact what is planned for these places mirrors how we are fighting the WOT globally -- the global WOT being directed by the CIC.

I gotta scram outta here and head home.
Been good arguing with ya, even though I hate arguing with fellow FReepers.
I had to stop going to neutral territory to take on libs; it was WAY too addicting.
Take care, FRiend.

The President was ambushed by Lehr and Kerry. OF COURSE KERRY AND LEHR WORKED IT OUT BEFORE THE DEBATE. I bet it was during Kerry's manicure while Dubya was meeting with hurricane survivors.

At the end of the debate does it show him placing anything back IN his breast pocket?Great question! Also, who reached Kerry's podium first after the debates?

in fact, Bush has never lost a debate for any reason in his political life. Keyes slapped him around continuously in 2000, and clearly intimidated Bush in that environment - of course rhetoric is Keyes area of expertise.

After the next debate...because of all the cheating taking place by the other side...and the fact the side doc was not signed I wish James Baker would move to NOT ALLOW anymore debates.Personally, I like the debates. I'd rather that the public be informed of the rules ahead of time. Or at least have cameras from all available angles. I doubt, for example, that there were any cameras directly over the podiums to that we could know what was placed there.
