The real concern about Kerrys plan for a summit has not been addressed other than that the summit wont work. Bush also noted that if you call the war a diversion or say it is the wrong war at the wrong time, you cant expect to get help from other countries. Fine points but the main problem is not that the summit wont work but that it will be dangerous for America.
If Kerry wins, the summit becomes his main plan that everyone expects that he will undertake. Funny thing is that the other countries know this as well. The summit puts the other countries in the drivers seat. If America gets shot down at the summit, its prestige will weaken. This weakness will embolden the terrorists in Iraq as well as worldwide. The countries who have not given help would like nothing better than to diminish America. In the case of the summit all they have to do is say no. It will cost them nothing there are no consequences. What a delightful outcome for most of the countries as well as a personal triumph for Kofi Annan. In their wildest dreams they couldnt have asked for anything better.
With respect to our allies who have assisted us, there is no possible way that they will want to assist us further. Kerry has dissed their contribution. Kerrys comments will be played all over the airways in any country that wants to increase aid. The more logical expected outcome is for more of our allies to pull out.
Perhaps Cheney can make the point in the debate of the dangerousness of the summit that it will weaken America. He could couple that with the fact that Kerrys quotes about the war being both a diversion and the wrong war will not make it possible for any country to assist us further as Kerrys comments will be televised in other countries. Summits that fail more often cause problems.
Shall we start a lottery for how many times Haliburton will be mentioned by Edwards?
I think Cheney can make up some lost ground for Bush.
There is a lot of ammo in Kerry's debate performance that can be unloaded on Deadwards. Nukes for Mullahs and 'global test' for starters. There are others.
Edwards will very likely take a beating, and I look for the Vice President to attack John Kerry effectively and often.
That'd be the smart thing wouldn't it? Edwards isn't running for president, Kerry is.
Wuz up with the News Week poll? Kerry ahead of Bush by 2 points? They must be polling DNC headquarters.

Point 1
"Edwards isn't running for president, Kerry is."
All that glitters isn't GOLD. Johnny Edwad should have been smarter than to be taken in by Kerry.
Johnny will get what he deserves.
Point 2
"Wuz up with the News Week poll? Kerry ahead of Bush by 2 points? They must be polling DNC headquarters."
LOL I know. It doesn't look like every other poll I've seen. NewsMax has a pretty good one though.
I like Bill Bennet's take on the debate too.
Point 3
"Edwards will very likely take a beating, and I look for the Vice President to attack John Kerry effectively and often."
Yep, but I hope he isn't a bully about it because the "undecided Mommies" might get offended.
sarcasm/off
"I like Bill Bennet's take on the debate too."
I like Bill Bennet's take on about anything. He sure let the air out of Alan Colmes' balloon the other night. Don't know if you watched that, but Alan was saying Iraq wasn't the center of the war on terror until we invaded it. Bennet asked him where was the center before the war? Would it be fair to say the insurgents who came into Iraq didn't have far to go?
You'd just have to have seen it. I damn near fell out of my chair laughing.
Speaking of coming off like a bully, that is one critisism that Bush cannot be accused of in the first debate. Seemed like he was a little distracted and/or tired. He'll do better next time around.

Yep, I agree. He was drained. He looked, and sounded like it too.
But maybe part of it was to let Kerry hang hinself; which he did. Either way Bush still wins.
I I think saw some of that interview.
Did Bennet tell Colmes that Bush has a real job unlike Kerry? LOL
I thought I would pee my pants with that smack-down.
