Suggestion For Cheney In The Debate
Self

Posted on 10/02/2004 7:49:11 PM PDT by TakeChargeBob

The real concern about Kerry’s plan for a summit has not been addressed other than that the summit won’t work. Bush also noted that if you call the war a diversion or say it is the wrong war at the wrong time, you can’t expect to get help from other countries. Fine points but the main problem is not that the summit won’t work but that it will be dangerous for America.

If Kerry wins, the summit becomes his main plan that everyone expects that he will undertake. Funny thing is that the other countries know this as well. The summit puts the other countries in the driver’s seat. If America gets shot down at the summit, its prestige will weaken. This weakness will embolden the terrorists in Iraq as well as worldwide. The countries who have not given help would like nothing better than to diminish America. In the case of the summit all they have to do is say no. It will cost them nothing – there are no consequences. What a delightful outcome for most of the countries as well as a personal triumph for Kofi Annan. In their wildest dreams they couldn’t have asked for anything better.

With respect to our allies who have assisted us, there is no possible way that they will want to assist us further. Kerry has dissed their contribution. Kerry’s comments will be played all over the airways in any country that wants to increase aid. The more logical expected outcome is for more of our allies to pull out.

Perhaps Cheney can make the point in the debate of the dangerousness of the summit that it will weaken America. He could couple that with the fact that Kerry’s quotes about the war being both a diversion and the wrong war will not make it possible for any country to assist us further as Kerry’s comments will be televised in other countries. Summits that fail more often cause problems.

Edwards will attack the VP on Halliburton. BFD. The VP will make him look like the little baby boy he really is.

"Summit" means surrendering and showing up at the negotiating table with hat-in-hand, something Querry (a) has a lot of experience doing, and (b) has in his Frog blood.

Cheney could also reiterate Kerry's point about emulating the strength of Ronald Reagan on defense, and clarify to Americans that it was through military strength and not capitulating to nuclear freeze treaties that made Eastern Europe finally free from totalitarian domination and took Europe and the United States out of the targets of Soviet missiles.

Kerry would have us disembowel the newest weaponry we are working on in order to make us seem like a better example to North Korea and Iran. We are not peers of NK and Iran. We do not use nukes to control the world. We would use them in self-defense to preempt a first strike against us by rogue nations.

If Cheney hits on this twice, it may cause brain cells to regenerate among some moderate Democrats.

I think Cheney should ask the Breck Girl one question: "Do you want your @ss handed to you in a paper or plastic bag?"

I'm kinda hoping cheney will say something like, "Perhaps my opponent can channel Saddam's victims and see if they think the war was worth it."

It is not wise to underestimate Edwards.
Considering Kerry's baggage that he has brought to the race, Edwards would have been a far more viable choice as the Dem candidate.

It will be malpractice of the team if Cheney doesn't have a terrific comeback with the Haliburton mention. One suggestion would be to anwer the dumb charge forcefully then turn the tables on Edwards by asking him shouldn't Kerry and his wife make their holdings public? What are they hiding?

I disagree. They'll say yes but what they will say yes to will be to do essentially nothing and get paid extremely well for it. Kerry is a dolt who has given away the US bargaining position. For him, getting a yes (of ANY kind) will be more important than anything else and he will pay dearly for it.

Its four hours before Saddam's visit. I'm OK now.

Its three hours before Saddam's visit, and I'm getting a little nervous.

Its an hour befor Saddam's visit and I REALLY NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!

Saddam is here. This industrial shredder sure is painful...

Also, ask about his holding in the energy sector prior to his vote on the war and after. Edwards has made a substantial profit on his O&G investments.

Actually, you don't disagree but have suggested a possible outcome. we will pay thru the nose for empty promises.

Another thought that I had was that perhaps this a brilliant stategy by Kerry. He blamed America for Vietnam and weekened our position by testifying before Congress and repeating scurrilous charges of our soldiers, meeting with the enemy while he was still commissioned (how do you spell treason), voting against for most of our weapons systems, after the 1st world trade center bombing voted to cut intelligence, his ridiculing Allawi while he was visiting the US, etc. His consistency was to make America weaker and acquiesce to the global powers. In this context, his plan for the summit makes sense.

edwards has experience as a trial lawyer and has won big and profitable cases. It is easy to win the hearts and minds of 12 people on a jury. Not easy to win a nation. He may look cuter to some people but Cheney is firm, direct, and candid.
Cheney will win yet not come across as pompous like Benson did when debating Quayle.

Bottom line, edwards will be out gunned.

It will be on the major LSM networks ABCNBCCBS along with the usual cable crowd and PBS. On Fox network there will be a playoff Baseball game.

I think you are right to a certain extent, but Dick is not like other guys Johnny is used to.

LOL Cheney is no cute stuffed animal. He doesn't care if we hold him, hug him or pet him. Just don't mess with him!

I suspect Dick Cheney will come just short of putting John Edsnot in a choke hold for most of the debate. Little JohnJohn will run away tripping over his own fat lip wiff his FEEEEELINGS hurt.
