Staffers at the Kerry campaign may want to put the cork back in their champagne bottles after they examine the internal numbers in the latest Gallup poll.
Sure, most felt that the Massachusetts Democrat was the better debater by a whopping margin of 53 to 37 percent.
Kerry did even better when Gallup asked which candidate expressed himself clearly, beating Bush 60 to 32 percent.
But when asked which of the two was more believable, it was Bush over Kerry - 50 to 45 percent.
On which candidate did better on the issues, again it was Bush over Kerry, 49 to 46 percent.
Those surveyed by Gallup also apparently didn't buy the media's line that the president came off as irritated and petulant. Asked who was more likable, it was Bush over Kerry again, 48 to 41 percent.
But the worst news for team Kerry came when Gallup asked which candidate was tough enough to be president, a question that taps into concerns that Kerry may be weak on terror.
Gallup respondents gave the "tough enough" award to Bush - and by a landslide, 54 to 37 percent.

What a relief! I thought that I would have to cut down to one glass of whiskey instead of two on the next debate. It appeared to me that Bush won the debate and Kerry was a transparent lying idiot. Now that this poll confirms what I percieved I can have two glasses of whiskey again! Woooohoo!

I don't give a damn who wins the alphabet soup network polls, all I care about is who is inaugurated on 1/20/05.

Honestly, I would of been a lot more irritated and petulant, if I had been standing next to John Kerry on a Stage, The very fact that
Bush was able to tolerate that flip flop lying gigilo senator from Massachusetts FOR ...90 Minutes..is unbelievable, Someone should give President GW Bush a raise.

It's easier to "debate" when all you're gonna' do is lie.

The day of the debate W was out in the heat and humidity with hurricane victims. Kerry was getting a manicure and having his tan washed off.
Everybody who has ever experienced the heat after a hurricane without AC, knows how draining that is. It saps energy. I think W was drained before he got there.

OK, but try to look at it from the perspective of a non partisan, non political junkie, in other words "sheeple" who are just now starting to pay attention.Obviously we know Cheney is the better man.My wife likes him so much more than Bush that she want's me to cut up our Bush Cheney bumper sticker so it reads "Cheney 04".

This reflects how I felt after the debate. From a cosmetic standpoint, Kerry won. Who do I respect, believe, and trust? No brainer, Bush!

Poor Carl Cameron is trying to make up for the sarcastic post that he made about Kerry and his manicure that FOX accidently posted on line.

(president came off as irritated and petulant)
That's understandable considering that everything that came out the mouths of the moderator and Kerry was an attack on him.I don't have a problem with him being irritated I just wish he would have responded to a few of the more ridiculous things Kerry said I.E attacking Iraq in response to 911 would be like invading Mexico in response to Pearl Harbor.Actually it was more like attacking Germany in response to Pearl Harbor.Which was both justified and successfull.
