Good grief! Look, publishing houses and production companies like Viacom pay small fees to hundreds of bloggers to create 'stir' about a particular project (i.e. books, films, music). Okay?

That's not what I'm doing here, but it is done. South Park is vulgar, base and offensive. But it's just a symptom of the decay, not the cause.

I got one bit of unsolicited advice for you, Jenius. Find somewhere else to work besides 'The Gap'.

South Park is vulgar, base and offensive.

Yea! That is why it is so great!

Redford might love them, but it just proves he's too stupid to know that he's being made fun of.

Ping. I love South Park.

LOL! Thank you for confirming my thesis, Professor Killjoy. Now, go out and tell the rest of your FReeper acolytes the news. They all think that South Park is brilliant satire, but you have seen the emperor and he has no clothes!

I can only guess. Perhaps feedback from your hearing aid? Or you forgot to wear your tinfoil hat. Those gamma rays can mess you up.

That King of the Hill cracks me up--but only because it doesn't exist in a vacuum. Texans ARE Hank Hill. My mother's brother IS Hank Hill. I don't know if that guy is from Texas or spent some time there or what, but as far as I'm concerned, he nailed that state cold.

It is brilliant satire, but it is also vulgar, base and offensive. They don't have to be mutually exclusive. The show is not for everyone, I think it would give my grandmother a heart attack, but for those in it's target market, it is absolutely brilliant. Watch the Mormon episode if you want a perfect example of this.

It is also the only animated show to ever have one of the main characters say "Democrats really piss me off".

See, I've never been to Texas. But I'd sure as hell stand in the alley with Hank and the gang.

I think I wrote that in my profile. :3 Working there isn't so bad. Flexible hours that don't interfere with school, good hourly wage, and I get to see lots of cute girls while I work.

As I said, I'm not a fan, but that was one of the few episodes I found TOTALLY hilarious.

Oh, well! I didn't know about that. I'm converted. I take it all back. South Park IS brilliant!

Oh I'm sure we're not half as brilliant as you think you are, Emeritus Professor of English @ Harvard.

But this is from someone who can't see what practically everybody else knows on this board, along with, magazines, blogs, and conservative reporters
