GOP leader seeks emergency rules on handling voter registrations (fraud)

RACINE, Wis. - Following questions raised this week about some voter registrations, state Republican Party chairman Rick Graber asked the Wisconsin Elections Board to issue emergency rules on handling them.

Graber acted Thursday after Acting Racine city clerk Carolyn Moskonas said a half dozen residents told her office they had not signed the forms that were filed in their names and she asked the Racine County district attorney's office to investigate.

The GOP chairman said in a letter that he was aware that investigation and news reports indicated a "significant effort" by groups "to submit fraudulent and fictitious voter registration applications" to local clerks.

Kevin Kennedy, the Elections Board executive director, said any election law violations are serious and he would hold a telephone conference with the state's district attorneys on election law.

But he said any allegations that the problems in Racine mean Wisconsin is vulnerable to widespread voter fraud are baseless.

"The problems we're having are volume problems, not fraud problems," said Kennedy, who estimated that 200,000 voter registration applications have been filed in Wisconsin this year.

Seth Boffeli, a spokesman for the state Democratic Party, said he feared such emergency rules could prevent legitimate voters from casting a ballot. Libertarian Party chairman Ed Thompson said the rules could limit efforts to get out the vote.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quoted a Milwaukee man who worked in a Racine voter registration drive by Project Vote as saying he never met with any of the people whose voter registration applications he signed as a deputy registrar.

The man told the newspaper that he merely drove Project Vote workers to and from various points in Racine for about $50 a day but did not accompany the workers and never filled out voter registration applications himself.

He said he sometimes called people whose names were on the forms to try to verify their identity but for the most part simply trusted that the workers had actually spoken to the people and had filled out the forms accurately.

Michael Nieskes, the deputy district attorney in Racine County, said "that may very well be in violation of the election code."

Moskonas and Kennedy said deputy registrars cannot file voter registration applications without witnessing them being filled out in the presence of the person being registered.

I think the Democrats KNOW, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Kerry cannot not win.

Their strategy is two fold:

1. Commit however much fraud is necessary to get Kerry enough votes to win.

2. Put out enough propaganda, to make the election at least APPEAR to be close enough, so when they win by fraud, it won't be immediately apparent, that Kerry couldn't possibly have won without fraud.

This is why it is absolutely CRUCIAL and CRITICAL that we get out the vote: All Republicans and conservatives must get out and vote for President Bush and take a few others along, to vote for Bush. If we don't do that, the Democrats may well be successful in stealing this election -- and remember, our very lives depend on it.

I was talking about this with some acquaintances earlier today. We think it's not unlikely that Kerry could score a victory, driven entirely by vote fraud.

What would Robert M. La Follette, Sr., say today about all the fraud and chicancery in his beloved WI? La Follette thought he had wiped out such infractions among his WI citizenry. Guess the fraud was too imbedded to remove completely

Here is a great site, which collects voter fraud information:

Blogger lists voter fraud data

Bush probably will concede if Kerry wins by fraud. Hence, we need a lead at least 10-20% in most states, 35-50% in key states--just to have a chance at breaking even. Bush is well on the way to losing the election.

Fraud?

As long as the system does not make identification at the voting place mandatory you will have fraud.

Why do you say Bush will concede?

In 2000, plans were in place to litigate in NM, as well as FL, if FL was not resolved in our favor. There may have been other plans to litigate in other states where the vote was very close and there was knowledge of attempted or actual fraud.

We have lawyers ready to go for the elections right now. Our poll workers will have those phone numbers. The DOJ/FBI/ several state AGs and election boards are scrutinizing registrations and absentee ballots right now. I have read a figure of 700 cases being pursued, at various stages of completion. There have been convictions in WI (Eau Clair) on 2002 double voting. Convictions in IN and KY that I am aware of (local races from 2002 and 2003). FL and NY double voters had their names in the newspapers and reporters trying to get statements from them. I believe these were uncovered by the states, but I am unsure of that.

I have never seen so much published in the national outlets about vote fraud.

My personal belief is that we are geared up to fight and we will win, just as we did in FL and w/the SCOTUS in 2000.

I don't know who the DNC has working for them in the clever department. I mean, if you look at the DU site, it's amazing how low and stupid some of the comments are. It's hard to imagine that those types of minds can pull off a cleaver, synchronized, seamless under the radar fraud successfully. Collectively they may share one brain cell.

Not that I am saying the issue is not real. I am not as spooked as some...yet.

I don't believe you.

NO repubbie action have EVER been taken to prevent, anticipate, nor slow down democrat voter fraud ANYWHERE.

Ever!

In every case, it has been explained away (as here, by the (typically democrat) local attorney and vote board head) never pursued, never convicted, never brought up again by the national party.

Figure three states in 2000, probably 4 Senate seats, at least three House seats are democrat now because of past fraud.

They know Kerry will not carry the day for them on his own, even given the 5-10 points they benefit from massive MSM biased "reporting". Thus, they seek another 1-2 points via vote fraud.

Although alternative media and aggressive counter by the Right is diminishing the MSM impact, the vote fraud effort IMO is getting more sophisticated year by year, and I agree must be countered much more aggressively.

You didn't mention another outcome: Given a Bush win, a close election buys them another four years of "no mandate, illegitimate election" mantra to stoke their base and justify hardball obstruction of the GOP starting November 3rd. This is why GW will have to move full speed on judicial nominations right away through 2005, and prepaqre for the "battle royale" over the SCOTUS appointments in 2006.

You don't have to believe me.

About 3-4 months ago I registered for a News Alert at Google for vote fraud. At first, all I got were left wing outlets, mostly online sites, and conspiracy theories about Diebold. Suddenly, about 2-2 1/2 months ago, the cases I outlined in my post began to be reported in their local papers.

There is a Vote Fraud Archive here at FR. You can check it out.

The "Gutless Pubbies" meme is a myth, IMO.

I am wondering if you forgot a sarcasm tag? If you didn't, go and take the 72-Hr Training at your local GOP HQ and sign up for poll watching. You will be informed of how to deal w/suspected/observed vote fraud.

I think most of us have known for quite awhile that Democrats will cheat to win. But I am more worried this election year than any other because of the pure hatred and ignorance many democrats have for Bush. I have no doubt they are committing fraud in this election and I think it's worse than in 2000. I agree we have to do everything we can to stop this fraud and bring it to public attention. We can't just talk about it if we aren't prepared to do whatever we can in our current position to fix the problem. I just hope that the Bush Campaign and the RNC are taking this very serious and have equal or even more resource's to find and prevent these things from happening before the election and on election day. We need an equal amount of lawyers at these polling places if not more. This is a very serious threat and I think the election fraud committed by the Democrats this election is worse than it has been in quite awhile. We have to do whatever it takes to prevent this and get President George W. Bush Re-elected this November.
