Understand....Our wonderful President is Texas...Being a Texan myself...living in Houston, TX...I just love to see him show his Texas Style ;o) I'm thrilled, that's why we're fighting the 'War on Terror.' 'cause of the Texas in him. He went to the world they gave him a thumbs down...and being so Texas...he still went for it. Ck this post out below, I think Porterville nails this debate (and few actually caught this)....

EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS POST:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1232070/posts?page=51#51

Bush built the container or the house to destroy Kerry.... Kerry is running water---- Bush let him run freely as he prepared the frames of the container to keep the aqueous behavior of Kerry... the house was successfully built...it is ugly and dirty work, that is why Bush worked so hard and let Kerry run.
The container was built on three key principles:
1. Kerry is a flip-flop politician
2. Kerry is a globalist proUN proWorld Court
3. Kerry is anti/weak on defense and poor for morale

Bush contained and framed these key "currents" of this liquid chameleon Kerry. Bush can now beat the hell out of Kerry within the house in which Bush framed. Kerry can't move. The only way for Kerry to escape is by exploding the frame, which will destroy his campaign... he'll have to embrace these "currents"....

Bush has won, he was winning the debates... not the debate.

And you won't hear this until that dark mousy curly haired Krauthammer speaks on Fox... then all the news hacks will pick it up.... and I don't get paid for this... those stupid losers in the beltway press get all the doe.

Oh, because I can't spell

Bush lost bigtime, I hate it when we cannot admit the truth, when our guy loses he loses folks, and Bush got beat, and pretty badly last night.

Oh, Kerry was confident sounding and forceful. But considering how many bombs he set for himself - "global test", no bunker busters, lying about "lying", tora bora lie, selling nuclear fuel to IRAN, more contradictions on Iraq and on and on - that will be used against him over the coming days, the saying is apt "One more such victory and I am lost" - King Pyrrhus of Epirus 281 B.C.

People, if you are upset and want to react, call the campaign and volunteer a few hours of time. Nothing, repeat, nothing will hurt the opposition more.

But that stuff will only work with the base who are already going to vote for Bush, for the people that want, desire, and need to believe in Kerry his "performance" gave them that warm and fuzzy, and it's all about feelings with the ones who are so called, undecided, they are undecided because FACTS don't matter to them, if they did they would be for Bush, however, it's a feeling they're after, and Kerry will provide it to them. Watch for Bush to really get nailed in the next two debates, this was Bush's strong suit, you ain't seen nothing yet.

If most Americans don't care about depending on the UN for defense, giving nuclear fuel to Iran etc., then we are sunk no matter who runs. These issues are in play now for weeks, after the debate itself is forgotten.

I was pretty disappointed in Bush's performance last night, but it wasn't a disaster; and I'm trying to put it into perspective. I've never quite gotten used to his style. I know it connects with those of us who already understand the "why's" of his policies, but for undecided voters, I think he needs to be more clear than "we're working hard" and a basic sense of "just trust me on this, people."

Oh well. The good thing is that he's still in the driver's seat and Kerry did not change that last night!

Kerry's going get a "real" coalition for Iraq while he gets rid of the coalition we have against North Korea and his sister is telling the Australians that anyone who supports the US is stupid and inviting attacks and he gets rid of the rest of our "bought and coerced" coalition but we shouldn't do anything without world support.

Frankly, anyone who buys that can vote and be damned.
The moron vote is beyond reach.

Kerry is obviously the only person in the world besides the leaders of Iran who believes that the Iranian nuclear infrastructure is for peaceful purposes.

Sorry, but even the leaders of Iran don't believe the nuclear infrastructure is for peaceful purposes.

That agenda belongs to kerry and the rest of the peaceniks.

WOW. And this from a paper that's virtually been a publicity pamphlet for the Kerry campaign for the last three months.

Un-blanking-believable.

"Bush lost tactically, but one in strategy....He's to damn nice of a guy...He could have ripped Kerry a new one, several times... but didn't...

I was very disappointed with our guy last night, though..He was not on his game.

Our man is a doer.. not a talker..."

My wife and I talked this over today. Bush was very tired. He was out all day with the hurricane survivors. Also one poster from FL said there was an Anthrax attack threatened for the devastated region in FL that involved Bush, FEMA and a decision on whether to evacuate. It turned out to be a (conveniently timed) hoax but it did take a lot of Bush's time and energy. Bush is the adult doing the real work, Kerry postures.

Despite being exhausted I believe Bush kept his eyes on the goal. First he hammered home the main points: 'Kerry cannot lead if he switches position, criticizes our troops and our allies. He (Bush) can lead because he will finish the job and be consistent.'

Next Bush knew who he had to win over. Not us. We are behind him. Many posters would like to see him go in for the kill on some of Kerry's openings. We would have loved it. Bush was speaking instead to the uncommiteds. He told of Misty and praying with her. He masterfully turned that horrible 'character flaw' question from Lehrer into a winning asset. Some blogs are calling that the defining moment of the debate. After rightfully calling Lehrer on it being a loaded question, Bush turned it around into a warm and fuzzy about how good a dad Kerry was and even got Kerry smiling.

In this respect Bush was successful. Some polls today show that undecided single women liked how Bush came across. They may not have responded as well if he had savaged Kerry.

Last night I too was a little worried. Bush wasn't coming across very well in his exhausted condition. Still the next day it doesn't seem so bad. What remains is all the really weird stuff Kerry said. It is almost like a wild party where things looked great at the time (Kerry) but the next morning it is "whoa, what did I say last night".

Some bloggers and posters here have suggested that Bush strung Kerry along in order to let him hang himself. If that is the case, then once again Bush was successful. Remember that Bush is a skilled poker player from his days at Harvard Business School. Bush knows how to hold on to his hand and to draw out an opponent.

All told Bush was ragged but made no mistakes as well as winning with some undecided voters. Kerry may have looked good for a moment but was all over the map. Kerry dropped a lot of new stuff on us that he will be hung for in the following days. The debate is not over. It is just continuing on the Internet.

I got a giggle from a line in the article, that Bush wore blue and Kerry wore red (in ties), the opposite of the color-coded states that went for each candidate.

Bottom line: Bush sucked last night in delivery.

Au contraire, I thought his demeanor was entirely Presidential. He projected an attitude of calm and fortitude. At one point as he was listening to Kerry, I thought his facial expression indicated "this is horsesh**" -- and I bust out laughing. Here's the leader of the free world, having to listen to this twerp from Massachusetts diddle on about how indignant he is that there's no peace yet in Iraq.

I thought Kerry played to his base, as in: "this President is sending money to Iraq but cutting funds to our police and fire fighters at home" -- playing to his Democratic union base, more money for union workers.

He (Bush) could have ripped Kerry a new one several times...but didn't...

Maybe he was advised NOT to go for the jugular, in order not to turn off the female viewers? If so, that was sensible advice. His restraint made him appear more Presidential. Sometimes ya gotta just take the insults and let them flow off your back like water. Bush showed himself above Kerry's petty little jabs.
