In the cool early light of the morning after, there's a question American voters must ask themselves, a question more important than any posed last night to George W. Bush and John F. Kerry.
    Who are we? Who have we become? What kind of people do we want to be? These are questions for the debate that counts.
    The extrusions of that vile species (erectus porcinus) who murdered 35 of their own children yesterday in the streets of Baghdad in the name of a malignant theology of an eighth-century religion, imagine that we're no tougher, no more resilient, no more courageous than the French, who can never even defend themselves; the Germans, who can't push themselves away from a plate of sausages long enough to recognize peril; or the Spanish, who demonstrated in the aftermath of the Madrid railway bombing that when the going gets tough it's time to cut and run.

Smug and vain, John Kerry presents himself as the John Paul Jones of the Mekong, the war hero who fears no foe. Maybe he doesn't. But he can't reconcile himself to the harsh and unforgiving fact that we're at war again, and this time against an enemy more vile, more depraved and more wicked than any America has faced before. Maybe he knows that. Whatever he may think, or feel in the marrow of his bones, he cannot jettison the dead weight of the leftmost elements of his party, either now, when his candidacy falters, or later, in the unlikely event he becomes the 44th president. He must be the cut-and-run candidate, just as he would have to be the cut-and-run president.

Americans may like the idea of the UN (without facing the reality of the UN's objectives)...but when the rubber meets the road, they trust Bush to do what is best for our national security, not the UN...It will come back to haunt Kerry again and again.

I'm certainly not brushing it aside. IMO, if we let up at all in the war, the Islamofacists will over in the US trying to pull-off a Beslan, Russia-type atrocity at one of our schools. They already caught one terrorist in Minnesota applying for permits to transport hazardous waste materials and school busses. This was a hard-core terrorist, one that had been in Chechnya. Maybe he was planning to pack a school bus with children and explosives and ram the whole thing into a school with some of his terrorist brothers.

Kerry would be like having Carter as president again, only this time we're at war and the enemy will have nuclear weapons in about two months.

That's right. Furthermore, those idiots LOST the Vietnam war. I really don't think we need those idiots to also lose the present war.

As I watched the first Presidential Debate it became readily apparent, that despite all of his flip flops in between, John Kerry is still at heart the same anti-war activist he was during the Viet Nam War. He would submit the United States to the whims of the United Nations and sell out our country and the free world to terrorist henchmen. He would cut and run from our allies, and bring the terror to our shores and the heartland of America.

Mr. Pruden in his article "Time to decide who we want to be" tells the American people with eloquence of the vast implications of the decision we will make on November 2nd when we cast our vote for President of the United States. We can and we must show courage in the face of those who would tear down the American ideals of Freedom and Liberty and follow a steady course against those who would destroy us. President Bush is the only candidate who has the leadership, courage, and conviction to uphold the beliefs we hold so dear. Our choice is clear on November 2nd.

I hope the rest of America can see this too!

I just can't figure out how you can be a war hero when you've been against every single war or conflict this country has ever been involved in.

We've got to put this one to rest but, before I do, I need to find the answers to the following questions. As a preface, I believe that men find themselves "fighting for their country" for a variety of reasons, not all of them noble. Hell, I personally know of one who, when younger, had the choice of jail or enlisting. Anyway, I need to find specifics about the black muslim who chucked a few grenades under the tent and killed a few of his fellow soldiers, in 1993, I think.

Did he enlist? How long was he "in country"? Longer than Kerry? Has he made any claims to exceptional insights about the wrong war in the wrong place... blah blah blah? Perhaps Jon Effing can give him some rhetoric lessons?

Hugh Hewitt played many clips of Kerry's testimony before the Senate Committee when he returned from the Viet Nam war. One of Kerry's comments was that if we pulled out of Viet Nam, there would be no blood bath like many were predicting. Was he ever wrong.

If as president, he implements a similar policy, he will have caused the loss of two wars, was my thought. (Great minds think alike. : ))

There is no indication his thinking has changed and every indication that it hasn't. No way can we risk him at the presidential helm, particularly not now but also not ever.
