Thread 1 - Pre-Debate discussion
Get to the online polls
MSNBC Kerry 73
Bush 27
CNN Kerry 84
Bush 12
Looks like the Dummies are flooding the polls
Bush gets only 12% on CNN? LOL, what did you expect? There was a DNC plea to go vote in the online polls after the debate, and most Bush supporters avoid CNN.
Bush did not do well on style, but while Kerry was delivering a pretty good stage performance, he served up some whoppers that will be good grist for the mill in the coming month.
"Don't blame the warrior" from the debate coupled with his '71 senate screed stands out, but there were others.
Bush in a landslide.
This was not a debate people. This was a news conference. Everyone here was looking for a knockout. A knockout was not needed. Kerry did fine if you are looking for style and debate points. Bush spoke to the American people. Kerry needed a KO and didn't get it. It was a draw and that's a win for our guy.
I saw that, too! How pathetic and phoney were they??! That smelled of a set-up right from the first question.
" To win the title YOU GOT TO KNOCK THE CHAMP OUT!"
The old time pundits said for Kerry " to win " he had to score a knock out.
So, if you look at it that way, Kerry lost.
I honestly can't remember a thing Kerry said-except he would end the bunker buster program.
Kerry talked and talked, but, he said nothing positive and offered no plans for anything.
Anyone who watched the debates was hammered with the themes of hard work, don't send mixed messages, fighting terrorism, global war, democracy, liberty, freedom and security by Bush.
The format made it hard for Bush to counteract all of Kerry's lies, so Kerry had an easier time.
I thought President Bush did just fine.
That's the yellow strpe on his back trying to bleed through to the rest of his anatomy.
"Inconsistency? I think so."
Exactly. Kerry came across very confused on what he would actually DO w.r.t Korea, Iran, etc.
He can criticize, but he can't and didn't even come close to offer anything better. That came across very clearly. How can the claim be that he "won" the debate, when he just repeated a bunch of meaningless statements?
He has nothing to offer. His supposedly "smooth" presentation did NOT cover up that fact. Bush nailed him on Korea among other issues.

I think your assessment is wrong. Bush building towards the end of the debate grew stronger, I love'd it when Kerry was asked which approach he thought was better and he said "Both"
And Bush's summation, just washed away the pablum of Kerry's summation comments....Bush started slow - no question - but totally won...now you won't be able to tell that from reading the national media...the only clear indication you will have that Bush won is from the NY Times...if tomorrow they say it was a draw...Bush won.
Kerry needs to do some fact checking though.
If people wanted entertainment, Kerry gave it to them. If they wanted substance, Bush gave it to them. I don't think either one of them was very forceful, but I felt that President Bush definitely showed the American people that his biggest priority is keeping this nation safe. Kerry didn't do that.
"Yes, Kerry is all for us shutting down our nukes as an example.
If this doesn't end his chances for all time then we are doomed."
Talk about being in deep do-do. This is what the radical left yearns for in their imaginary world of peace love and happiness. The real world doesn't work that way. A strong defense scares the bullies away. Just like armed citizens with guns scares thieves and other creeps from trying to harm you. Hey, I'm preaching to the choir.
hahahaha-basically Kerry didnt make any good points - and he had too - he tries hard to be deep voiced and act "commanding"
but he just sounds silly
President Bush is sometimes a little wandering - but he has made all the points he needs to already..
WOOHOO
4 more years!! amen!!
all my friends watching all over america tonight say Bush by 7pts!!
Rudy just hit a home run for our President after the debate.. he kicked down every single doom and gloom Chris Wallace tried to ask him..

Dunno. I sure don't want to watch or read tonight ever again. (Sorry, I know we're supposed to be more upbeat, but I'm not.)
Yes he did.
I think President Bush showed why we all love him...skerry showed why we all think he's a jerk-off. He again PROVED what a complete assh*le he is. And he ain't know John Kennedy.....Kennedy never came across like such an assh*le as skerry--BUSH WINS....SKERRY LOSES AGAIN!!!

Yes, the ABC instant poll viewers gave the debate to Kerry. But it didn't change any of their votes. Among them, Bush went in with a 4 pt lead. Afterwards, he still led by 4 pts.
