Right. The only way you can make a small fortune by believing the MSM is if you first start with a large fortune.

Make that an orange puddle of sweat. Wouldn't it be funny if he started to streak off his tan right in the middle of it? Like a woman who is crying her makeup off! I'm gonna watch and hope for that!!

NS, why are they releasing prewritten articles. There's no excuse for any "Dewey Defeats Truman" moments anymore.

That probably won't happen, he either has drunk too much pekoe-pekoe tea or he suffers from the common politician's illness - methane retention, caused from overeating, overdrinking and sitting in committee meetings all day - Ted Kennedy is a prime example.

I guess it's ok for us to start calling in to cspan now and tell them how we were going to vote for Kerry, since we've been democrats all our life, but after watching the debate, we've been convinced to vote for President Bush.

Lewis Lapham
Lapham is archetpal NYC liberal and an angry and unhappy man at that. I used to read him years ago until I realized that he makes money off ennui or boredom or angst.

Unbelievable. Almost, but not quite.
I find the AP and their ilk completely disgusting.

The reason I brought his name up was because he got caught critiquing the Republican Convention for an article in the Atlantic Monthly before the convention had even started!

I'm surprised The Great One doesn't recognize this for what it is. It's filler for first edition papers that have to go to bed before the debate even starts. When I was in college (long time ago, upstate NY) we used to get the NYT "City Edition" which I could also buy on the street in NYC at 10 PM the day before. It wasn't too unusual to see such stories on the front page and/or in the sports section where the real stories would appear later in the "Late City Edition."
