There have been several "live threads" posted today regarding the debate starting early this morning. Let's make this the official thread.
FR Live Thread: Bush Kerry - First Debate - Thread 2 - Here we go!
a nice cabernet and two pints of ben and jerry's {sorry I know b and J's is enemy territoroy but sometimes you just have to have cherry garcia}.
I'd like to know that, too. I'm not sure if I can watch for very long, given that Kerry makes me sick to my stomach. It's going to worse, with the glare of his freshly bleached teeth, the orange hue on his face, and the nicely buffed and shaped nails on his long, bony fingers.
Agreed on BO being a jerk. I'd say he's a very SMUG jerk at that. Only reason I was listening to him was because I couldn't get Hannit where I was on post today. Hills and such were messing up the reception.
And we all know how difficult that would be (rolling eyes into back of head)
Nah. Kerry would never risk messing up his fresh manicure ;-)
"Annie, the draft issue is something that President Bush needs to address, and debunk, early and definitively."
Absolutely. Mr Rumsfeld has stated publicly that he prefers a volunteer army. Rangel argued for the draft (quite some time ago) using the same talking points that were used to end it in the first place. This "secret plan" draft thing is completely false, and I hope the President refutes it roundly.
Halliburton?
I'm wondering about that one too. Or will they try to lay in wait for Cheney on that one (fat chance, ha ha).
President Bush is very solid and knowedgeable on the Iraqi theatre of the WOT. There will be a lot of dissapointed brhamans in Boston this evening.
Thanks for that link; I left a message there. Godspeed to all of them.
Maybe the manicurist is a Dubya fan and Kerry shows up with sore red overcut cuticles.
We could always try a digital pixel zoom from a screenshot. Good idea, I'll give it a try.
a mountain?
Go W!
Yeah, but this isn't really a debate - it's a side-by-side press conference. So, no matter what Kerry does or says, Bush can treat him as not really being 'there' and carry on with his 'press conference' as he has so many times in the past.
I think the end result will be draw->edge to Bush. I think Kerry will acquit himself well enough for his base (say 40%) to be happy, and I think Bush will be Bush so that his base (45%?) will walk away saying "what a solid guy that Bush is".
It's the 10-15% in the middle that will ultimately decide whether they like an officious ponidexter or a regular, stable guy who is currently faring very well while bearing the weight of the world's troubles on his shoulders.
Yes, I might get frightened tonight, but another good reason to limit the VT's is because I have a 9:00 a.m. sales call :) I haven't been this pumped up since before the colts and patriots played in the playoffs last season!
It was indeed!
I predict, and we still have one hour before debate starts, he will say he served in Vietnam and close the loop by saying "Don't question my patriotism". LOL
What time is the debate tonight? (CT)
He knew how to handle terrorists.
I don't think the town hall debate is tonight.
I hope not.
It was going to be in St. Louie at one point. I honestly haven't had the debate interest to follow along.
Without FR and Freepers comments, these deabates would be insufferable.
