Theft of our Bush Yard Signs!!
Self | 09/30/2004 | Kevin Carne

Posted on 09/30/2004 3:22:37 PM PDT by kcinnh

Two weeks ago our Bush yard signs where proudly surrounding the front yard. Over the last week the have been mysteriously disappearing. Has this happened to anyone else out there in Freepland? The Kerry guys must be getting desperate. More signs have been ordered!!

I remember being on a night exercise with my Marine platoon at Camp Geiger once, and walking into a "flash-bang" in the woods that was detonated by a trip-wire I had stupidly walked into. I was blind for about a half hour.

Another time my mailbox, which was sitting proudly upon a 4x4 post, got ran down (deliberately) by somebody driving a pickup truck. So I put in a new post (at least it looked like a post) which was actually four thinner boards nailed together around a solid steel pole hammered deep into the ground and packed to the top with concrete. It looked just like the old post. Somebody tried to run that mailbox post down and ended up with a real problem, plus a headache.

Anyway, about your signs - - I suggest you get creative.

You must be in a battleground state. Here in NC, there are so few Bush yard signs available, that the Republicans steal them from each other. (Just kidding, we wouldn't do that. Of course, some Republican would have to have one first anyway.)

Honestly, I live in a metro area and have seen only ONE (1) Bush/Cheney yard sign. I've seen the W-04 bumber stickers everywhere!

KC,

I had my Bush sticker taken off the back of the car and a few days previous some words scribbled in the coating of dust on the paint (Metro Detroit area).

I fear it is going to get uglier and should the Dem's loose, I do not put civil (potentially large scale) unrest past them as well.

In the 2000 election I had someone take a sign which was nailed to my arbor. However, I had a calculated that might happen and had put very generous amounts of axial grease on the back of the sign. The guy that took it, jumped into his car and speed off, as he heard me coming out.

My only satisfaction was that he got the grease all over his hands and steering wheel as he speed away. (heh, heh, heh)

Yes, happened to me. I live in Central Illinois. Just went out and got another one the next day. My neighbor across the street has rented one of those huge sign boards and every day has a different anti-Kerry slogan. It's a hoot. My next door neighbor is a big lib. It's fun to create a little excitement in the neighborhood.

We need to give the "W" salute to those who have the Bush/Cheney bumper stickers on their cars, as well as keep an eye on our neighbors with signs in their yards.

Just a suggestion.

This is really off topic, but your post reminded me of something.

There was a commercial about security devices which are placed on doors. They go off when one part is separated from the other. They were cheap too. I could swear it was Firt Alert, but I have gone to their site and not found those specific devices. Has anybody here own one of these gadgets?

I obey the law. What the liberals may do is what we're trying to fix. Leadership is by example.
******

Law is what man makes it....according to the UN the war in Iraq is illegal. Killing is illegal but we do it. Its a bunch of frickin yard signs for petes sake.......definately not a world event in my eyes, and way to much fun to needle a liberal....its sssooo easy.

I had the same problem for awhile.
The last time I put one out I first made a solution of sodium hydroxide (lye) and water, painted the sign with it and allowed it to dry.
Then staked it out in the middle of a huge fire ant bed.

Havnt had a problem since.....

SWEET...a claymore!
I wonder what the reaction is going to be November 3Rd to a Bush win by over 10%.

I still have my signs from 2000, and I will use them. I put them up close to the house with the landscape lights shining on them all night. I used to put them out by the front sidewalk but they were always stolen there. They haven't been stolen SO FAR while up close to the house and illuminated all night. The Kerry people sure are desparate. And it is AGAINST the LAW to steal the signs.

I won't deny anyone their fun, here or anyway else. But those yard signs are a symbol of our right to free speech...and depending on where you live to remove them before an election is a criminal offense that can be punished severely and rightly so. You can do whatever you want the minute the polls close.

As for my position on the law, great or small, we (humans) are all just animals along with all the other creatures on this earth. It is only our adoption and agreement to abide by the law that keeps us from being beasts. Don't mean to spoil the fun and that's the end of my two cents worth.

I shouldn't speak of this but...

re: bumper stickers, in theory you can get some fun loving Young Republicans together and go to a print shop and have a batch of bumper stickers printed up from a "friendly" businessman for little to no cost.

These stickers could, in theory, read :"GAY MARRIAGE NOW!, Vote Kerry/Edwards."
On one side is the Kerry/Edwards flag logo, on the other is the queer rainbow flag.

It was easy to do, hypothetically speaking, and I can scan in some of our pics and show you how this is done, but remember, this is theoretical.

For added fun, I suppose one could take said bumper sticker to campus and put them on cars with pre-existing Kerrey Edwards stickers.

This leaves the Dems with quite a dilema when they realize the new sticker, Unsure where it came from, do the Liberal professors remove said sticker and offend their queer constituency, or leave it on and tick off mainstream voters...hmmmmm
but you can discuss amongst yourselves this "hypothetical situation"....hehe

Pics a'comin of this experiment...or so I've heard.

Someone in Houston got caught with stolen signs in the back of his pickup during a recent election. I don't know what the punishment was. But he was caught RED handed.
