Two weeks ago our Bush yard signs where proudly surrounding the front yard. Over the last week the have been mysteriously disappearing. Has this happened to anyone else out there in Freepland? The Kerry guys must be getting desperate. More signs have been ordered!!
My daughter printed two on 18X24 vinyl for me. They're going up at sunrise tommorrow. I have also mounted 4 NEW Bush/Cheney signs up on my roof.

I put two sided tape on the top of my Bush signs, then put honey on the first 3 inches and Crisco on the rest of the sign. If they grab from the top the thieves get all sticky, if they try from the middle or bottom they will get all greasy.
It's worked for me every election year.
Since my BUSH sign got stolen, I made my own sign .............YOU CAN STEEL MY SIGN BUT YOU CAN'T STEEL MY VOTE !!!
Thats great...when I lived in Sebastopol there were these teenagers who would drive up an down our country road and knock the mailboxes off with baseball bats....
When I moved in they struck, and my new neighbors had told me that it was an on going problem every year...
I made a fake wooden post (steel core), welded the box on with quarter plate steel inside. To the quarter plate I welded rebar and filled it with concrete. I put up my new real mailbox slightly below and slightly behind the dummy box.
About 3 months later the creeps struck again...this time they got all the way down the street to my dummy box...before the punks got a rude awakening...I hope it broke the kids arm when he uncorked on my unmovable box...
All mailbox slamming stopped forever after that.
Goes both ways, unfortunately. In the conservative town next door here in Virginia police have had reports of nearly 50 Kerry signs stolen but only two Bush. Some people have started taking their Kerry signs in at night And the thefts are also backfiring -- some people who have had them stolen have put up MORE signs in retaliation. I'd link to the story about it but the paper takes stories down after seven days.

A friend of mine used a similar solution. He found one of those *big* galvanized steel rural mailboxes and mounted a smaller mailbox on the inside, then filled the space in between with concrete. The first kid to swing a bat at *that* mailbox got a heck of a surprise. Wish I could've seen it.
I have had 7 Bush signs stolen from my yard, Wernersville, PA. Of course I replaced them with 5 more, closer to my house. It really upset me that people would actually steal my signs. I guess they are getting desperate.
BUSH all the way!!!!!
