Edwards was expected to use his formidable trial lawyer skills to outline major policy positions.

Yes, but if their patron candidate loses, the patronage ceases.

“The man is on the way,” she assured the audibly restless crowd.

I thought that the morning fax stated that 'help was on the way'???? Geez, I can never get these liberal faxes right???????????

I've stayed at the Robert Treat Hotel and plan never to do so again. From what I saw when I was there, my bet is that Edwards (a) couldn't find a parking spot, or (b) was scammed by the hotel staff. Maybe he'll find a better place than Newark to speak next time.

Ah....I see (said the blind lady)...thanks for setting me straight. Maybe NJerseyians are ready to step out in faith...take a chance at going in a new direction...they certainly can't do any worse than what they've done until now. If anything, they'd be a whole lot better off shaking off the shackles of the demonrat party.

You'll know things are looking good if Dubya makes an appearance in N.J.

Bill Clinton was not very punctual, from what I understand.

What are you talking about? Klinton never left Monica standing.

I thought Opie Edwards was keeping a low profile because he's such a detriment to the ticket. A little over two months ago this guy was on top of the world with his ticket leading in the polls and a path to the presidency being paved for him. Now he and Mr. Kerry are circling the drain, and along with it his political career. Well, at least he has that lucrative legal career to fall back on.

...the North Carolina senator said in his syrupy southern drawl.

I can't stand Edwards, but whoever wrote that can take that sugar & cram it lengthwise where the sun don't shine.
Also, there's a capital S on Southern.

Thanks,
CD

"A 9/11 widow who has been traveling with Edwards, Breitweiser, in a measured but nonetheless emotional voice, charged the GOP with politicizing the terrorist attacks..."

Breitweiser and the other four members of her self-promoting and media hyping "Bush bad, Libs good, 9/11 professional victims" entourage have done nothing but politicize the attacks of September 11th.

In a wise move, James actually tossed a few water bottles to parched audience members.

How merciful.

John F*ckin' will probably keep New Jersey. On the off-chance there's an upset, he'll probably blame it on the staff.

"What is it with dems? Clinton was always late! It must be some type of brain dysfunction."

It's called ARROGANCE. These elitist snobs see a common person who takes an idealogical stand on something and sticks wtih it and they call that person arrogant. Then they preach to working people about how the world works even though they wouldn't be caught dead in a real job and can't imagine why anyone would have the nerve to label them as arrogant.

If the media says 20% left it was more than likely 40%.

Exactly, how would you even notice 20%??? After all, it's only Eddie Haskell

George Washington's victory in Trenton NJ on Christmas Day was the unexpected, key suprise in the campaign, and turned around the entire momentum of the revolutionary war.

What would an early victory in NJ do for our campaign on Election Night?

Nicely, fairly written account of another Democrat fumble.
I would not feel safe with those people in charge. No way.
