CHICAGO -- Friday night, Grammy award winner Stevie Wonder and comedian Robin Williams, two outspoken critics of President Bush, will be in Chicago to raise $500 per person for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama.
Pop and soul singer Stevie Wonder, who campaigned on behalf of Al Gore in 2000, will be joined by Robin Williams, who has been an outspoken critic of President Bush.
Earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival before a group of international journalists and film critics, Williams criticized Bush's decision to rid Iraq of Saddam Hussein and questioned the search for WMDs.
"Bush is complaining about a lack of intelligence, which seems sort of redundant," Williams, a native of Chicago, said. "They say they don't know if Iraq had any WMDs - well, all they have to do is ask [Vice President Dick] Cheney for the receipts."
Williams, 53, has criticized Bush for the past four years. In 2000, when Bush was running as a "compassionate conservative," Williams joked that Bush sounds like someone who drives "a Volvo with a gun rack."
In one performance, Williams and good friend comedianne Whoopi Goldberg used unfiltered vulgar language when talking about the President, causing a national uproar.
"We have a president for whom English is a second language," Williams said. "He's like 'We have to get rid of dictators,' but he's pretty much one himself."
Obama has been equally strong in his criticism of the President's decision to enter Iraq in the war on terrorism, but has parted with other Democrats earlier this week when he said he would consider bombing Iran to rid the country of possible nucleur weapons.
The state senator who won in a tough primary and was flung into national ranks at the Democratic National Convention in August has raised almost $13 million dollars for his U.S. Senate campaign as of the last report to the Federal Election Commission. He is leading in statewide polls over his Republican opponent Alan Keyes by a margin as wide as fifty percentage points.
The next campaign finance reports will be submitted on September 30.
Obama has not publicly distanced himself from comments made by Williams concerning the president.
At a concert earlier this year, Williams said, "We're here tonight because of the Shrub, you know who I'm talking about. George W. Bush, Jr.," Williams stated. "The W stands for 'where the Hell is it?' You know, you look at George W. and you realize some men are born great, some achieve greatness, and some get it as a graduation gift. So sad. I just want to ask the Secret Service, is it true that his Secret Service code name is Gilligan?"
Robins is another throughly 'femanized' Marxist performance arteest....whose mantra
includes 'War Never Solved Anything"....ignores world history...and the brutality committed against innocents abroad and at home doesnt affect his callous soul in the least...
As long as he can disarm the victims foreign and domestic agression or the US military he is content in his work...
It's time Americans stopped making these traitors wealthy....

Why is someone 40+ points ahead in the polls and with a huge campaign warchest already, holding fundraisers?
Whatever. I wouldn't vote in this election if I lived there. This whole situation is a joke.
I live here and I'm voting the Constitution Party candidate. Gawd I hate this state...
Chances are, Obama is already caught up in Chicago corruption. He only knows a little bit more about Illinois than Keyes does. Both are terrible canidates for IL. But just think, Robin Williams and Stevie Wonder have more access to this creep than downstate taxpayers. Oh sure, Obama is so good for democracy. Bullshit. Where the hell is Obama????????? In Illinois????????????? He's like Daley. He doesn't have to campaign, it's all fixed. I bet a lot of IL republicans sit out this election. This state is so corrupt and there will never be another fair election here.
there is something wrong with the need to raise money for a candidate with a 17 point lead and a newcomer as competition. The RAT vote in Chicago should put Obama over the top - why does he need to power performers raising money?
Williams will wear a blindfold and play Stevie Wonder in tennis to the background music of "Everlasting Love."
Obama, the muzzie sleeper, needs to come clean about his hidden past.
I can understand why. I don't require people to agree with me on everything to vote for them, to my right or to the left, as long as they are better then the alternative. I'd vote for Arlin Specter if I was in Pennsylvania, and I would have voted for Jesse Helms in North Carolina.
But this situation is so disgraceful, and completely cynical, and Keys has gone so bonkers, I wouldn't give them the satisfaction. Someone has to punish the state party for this situation.
Clearly you only get your information from Internet rumors. Stevie Wonder nor Bill Clinton ever had any type of sexual relationship with Lencola Sullivan. She knew Stevie because she was a backup singer. Her contact with Clinton came from being the first Africa-American Miss Arkansas (she also was the first African-American woman to make it to the Miss America Final Five). Ms Sullivan is a very serious Christian woman from a very strict Christian family. What you also do not know is that Ms. Sullivan and her husband are strong financial supporters of George Bush. In fact, her husband is a director and officer of a company involved with Homeland Security and Private Military Services (support to our troops in Iraq). Two important thoughts: he who throws dirt only loses ground; and judge not lest ye be judged also.
