Touring the area damaged by Hurricane Jeanne, and traveling to Florida and preparing for the first debate (in Florida), are the topics today.

Here's an interesting caption from Yahoo: "As voters are swamped by a blizzard of rival surveys in the final weeks of the presidential campaign, pollsters themselves are facing increasing questions about their methodology and accuracy, with some polls showing widely divergent results."

The Cheneys campaigned in Minnesota.

You're welcome. The MSM always prints the same picture of the VP when they want to scare the liberals, of him wearing his glasses, his jaw askew and his lower teeth showing. It's so cute and it gets the point across that the VP don't take no crap from nobody.

Prayers lifted.

I have been re-reading Frank Peretti's second novel about spiritual warfare, Piercing the Darkness. He describes how the demons are not restrained and can torment people and influence events when the saints are not praying. The angels hold back in their confrontations until they have sufficient prayer cover. A few of the times the lead demon taunts the captain of the host, the captain is confident the saints will be praying when the time for battle comes. He is pleased the enemy "misunderestimates" them.

You really should get to the area - but don't drink the water unless you plan on living here one day. . There's a 'time-release' component in our water that kicks in and brings one back to stay. : )
I used to do investigative reporting for a state wide newspaper published by L.L.Bean's granddaughter (also was on her campaign staff when she ran - unsuccessfully, unfortunately - a few years ago for congress)
Some 23 years ago, I infiltrated ("No Press!" edict) a meeting of the D.S.O.C. (Democratic Organizing Committee Organization) in our state's capitol city, in a church (!) in the shadow of our capitol building. (A motley crew.)
Their main speaker was our states Senate majority leader (Dem.) who held up a card and said: "As you know, I, like you, am a card carrying member of the Socialist party, but..." and went on to lament that since their knight-in-tarnished armor, Ted Kennedy, had lost the spring primary bid for presidential candidate the previous spring, they would not be strong enough to come out of hiding. The new tactic would be to totally infiltrate and take over the Democratic party...and to get control of pension funds, etc.
So Senator Zell Miller and others need not wonder what happened to the old Dem party - it is no more. It's now the Socialist Party in Dem. clothing.
This is the perfect time of year for lobster, as the waters get colder. They taste even better'n summer. But don't tell anyone! We keep that a secret.

I like that comment I think that is great I would also suggest that you could make that comment re the Cheneys as well just think of the way he looks at her when she is introducing him or laughing at his jokes that is a "hot smoldering look"

I think more should be made of monogamy and faithfulness showing that this is not a boring way to live but a fulfilling and rewarding lifestyle.

I haven't had the time and energy to post to the Dose lately, but I read it ... eventually.

I noticed your post and I wanted to comment that I certainly hope you and OhioWFan and others who are getting to see our President in person carry me with you in spirit when you do (see him)!

The Lord was with us today!

The environment started out seemingly hostile, but my friend who went with me calmed the situation by being so friendly that she disarmed the foe.

Through the course of the day, we had MANY people come to our table in support, passed out fliers, bumper stickers, etc, and I think had more 'traffic' than the Kerry table.

We had good conversations with young minds who have been deceived, and at least got them to start thinking about the propaganda they have been fed. We answered specific questions about Iraq, prescription drugs, education, national security, the President's impeccable character, and lots of other things.

It was a GOOD day! THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS!

I became even more convicted that the most powerful tool we have is prayer! May the TRUTH about the President be made clear and the deceit in his opponent obvious, and may all attempts at fraud be stopped dead (pun intended) in their tracks!

This is why is annoys me so when Dick Cheney gets attacked over Halliburton especially as he has gone to such great lengths to ensure that there is no connection between him and Halliburton. Selling his stock donating the profit to charity taking out insurance policy for the deferred payments so that his getting paid is not dependent upon Halliburton solvency etc etc.

I didn't hear one complaint when Halliburton was awarded a no bid contract for the Balkans under Clinton.

Exactly and don't forget for a great deal of the Clinton reign Cheney was the CEO at Halliburton. Obviously they did not think Cheney or Halliburton was corrupt then.

I get so angry that someone of Cheney's character is attached by these evil people.

I don't necessary say that it was a bad thing going out and about in Florida that may have helped taking his mind off the debate providing he was well rested from the night before.

I agree that I thought he started well and then looked fatigued and was tripping up more on his words and having periods of hesitancy. At first I thought this was tiredness but in retrospect I wonder if he was actually angry at some of the spin and lies that were coming out of Kerry's mouth. I think rather than show his temper he tried to control it which came over as irritation and tiredness.
