Retired General Thinks Bush Has Got To Go (so angry I could spit!)
Colorado Springs Gazette ^ | September 29, 2004 | Dennis Huspeni

A retired Army general Tuesday criticized President Bush’s pre-emptive strike foreign policy, saying it has distracted the United States from the real war on terror and alienated it from the rest of the world.

Lt. Gen. Claudia Kennedy told a group of 15 at a downtown Colorado Springs coffee shop that Americans must elect a leader to rebuild coalitions damaged by the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

If John Kerry is elected, Kennedy said, “the international community will meet us halfway. They’ll be so delighted to work with someone who will treat them with mutual respect, rather than the current administration’s arrogance.”

Kennedy, a former Army senior intelligence analyst, has been stumping for Kerry in Ohio, New Mexico, Arizona and now Colorado.

When the 32-year Army veteran was promoted to threestar general in 1997, it was the highest rank held by a woman in the Army.

Although the military is traditionally pro-Republican, Kennedy said she’s not alone in her opinion that it’s time for a new commander in chief.

“I have some Republican friends who have decided to vote for Kerry,” Kennedy said. “Moderate Republicans are outraged by our record deficit and debt, which is decidedly anti-Republican.”

Jonena Hearst asked Kennedy how she could voice her opposition to the war without hurting the morale of her son, John, an Army soldier serving in Iraq.

“If the commander in chief so misguidedly sends a person to Iraq, it’s not that person’s fault,” Kennedy said. “We should be sending him to Afghanistan to look for al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden.”

Kennedy said the administration is playing on Americans’ fear of terrorism.

“They’re controlling people rather than leading people,” she said. “When people feel threatened, the most important thing to do is take action.”

That action, Kennedy said, is to get out and vote.

She is retired and with that comes the ability to vocally express her direct opposition with the current administration but is still cuts like a knife as I read it.

I would spit on her boots, but, remember that is DOD property. But she is retired so ......

"Lt. Gen. Claudia Kennedy told a group of 15 at a downtown Colorado Springs coffee shop "

I'm sure all newspapers send a reporter to groups of 15 holding a meeting. </sarcasm>

She's an idiot. From a November 2001 interview:

CK: We also need to recognize that this isn't going to be a campaign to seize territory, but a campaign to stake out a political and ideological victory. Any effort to reinvigorate homeland defense will fail if it doesn't take into account that terrorist attacks are motivated by cultural and ideological differences - that the real target is our way of life. We need to start our homeland defense at the root of terrorist activity. The climate for terrorism is set in enclaves of people who are deprived, insecure, and believe they lack power and influence.

Yep, she eshews the liberal line as to both the root causes of terrorism and the proper response to it.

“I have some Republican friends who have decided to vote for Kerry,” Kennedy said.

Well, I have some Democrat friends who are going to vote for Bush.

For those of you who don't remember her, Lt Gen Claudia Kennedy filed sexual harassment charges against a male Army major general. He filed sexual harassment charges against her. Both were found to have merit though she apparently started the harassment. Both were forced to retire in disgrace.

She is now making a career out of bashing President Bush who refused to overturn the U.S. Army Chief of Staff's decision to force her to retire because of her actions.

She advanced to a flag rank by wielding the political correctness club. Did she get her star during the Clinton administration?

And here's the rest of the story.

Claudia Kennedy used to date Terry McAuliffe's father-in-law in the late 1990's. It was McAullife's influence that got her in with Bill and Hillary and got her all the promotions to three stars when the rest of the Army brass was wondering how this dunce was getting promoted so fast.

What's that McAuliffe says about Bush using influence to get in the Texas ANG?

A whole entire group of 15?

Just think, when the little general gets all growed up, she will prolly be able to tell more than 20 of them people some stuff.
