GMA
John Kerry was apparently on Good Morning America and The Note snippets this baffling exchange:
DIANE SAWYER: Was the war in Iraq worth it?
JOHN KERRY: We should not have gone to war knowing the information that we know today.
DS: So it was not worth it.
JK: We should not it depends on the outcome ultimately and that depends on the leadership. And we need better leadership to get the job done successfully, but I would not have gone to war knowing that there was no imminent threat there were no weapons of mass destruction there was no connection of Al Qaeda to Saddam Hussein! The president misled the American people plain and simple. Bottom line.
DS: So if it turns out okay, it was worth it?
JK: No.
DS: But right now it wasn't?p>
JK: It was a mistake to do what he did, but we have to succeed now that we've done what he's I mean look we have to succeed. But was it worth as you asked the question $200 billion and taking the focus off of Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda? That's the question. The test of the presidency was whether or not you should have gone to war to get rid of him. I think, had the inspectors continued, had we done other things there were plenty of ways to keep the pressure on Saddam Hussein.
DS: But no way to get rid of him.
JK: Oh, sure there were. Oh, yes there were. Absolutely.
DS: So you're saying that today, even if Saddam Hussein were in power today it would be a better thing you would prefer that . . .
JK: No, I would not prefer that. And Diane don't twist here. Notice how Kerry loses his cool and accuses the questioner of twisting; Is this guy thin-skinned or what?
In tomorrow's debate, Kerry will benefit from lowered expectations because his image among voters is something of a caricature right now. But he still has to do better than he did on GMA. You can bet President Bush has a list of zingers that he will deploy if Kerry gives him an opening.
How can somebody who can barely string together a coherent paragraph SERIOUSLY think he might get elected President?
This is beginning to look more and more like a Clinton set-up to make sure Hillery has a clear field in 2008.
Okay, I'm stymied at the first answer he gives. We didn't know the information that we know today, at that time, so how could we not have gone to war "knowing" that information, that we didn't know.
Right, now I'm having a flashback to a Harry Mudd episode of Star Trek.
"Flip Flop" is an amusing, comical term. This is more like person who is tangled up in his own web of lies and decpetions and doesn't know WHAT to say anymore.
"In tomorrow's debate, Kerry will benefit from lowered expectations because his image among voters is something of a caricature right now.
Because he's orange."
Because he's just had another "inarticulate moment" in his campaign......
Keep em coming johnny!
"I don't fall. That s__-of-a-b____ tripped me."
"I just threw it in the dirt because the guy behind the plate was so nervous."
I saw him a couple of days ago before it hit the news that he was orange. It definately struck me that he was orange. It looked just like one of those spray on tans. You could not help but notice it - of course, everyone has.
How long that takes to wear off I have no idea. But as orange as he was two days ago, he must still be orange today.
Where? Here on her farm (estate)in Pittsburgh????? I met the man who has the contract to wash her windows.
Perhaps it's out in Idaho? After he's done skiing?
It will not matter if seniors have a prescription drug plan, or we all have a national healthcare plan, or the stock market is up or down, or are schools are failing or succeeding, or crime rates are low or high, or the environment is polluted or clear, or we are hated throughout the world - - if the terrorists are allowed to strike us in America again and again with weapons of mass destruction (chemical, biological or whatever) - a great many of us will be dead in the next four years.
This election of the year 2004 is the decision between life and death - literally.
Dittoes BUMP
Might I add one thing that perhaps people overlook: WMD is not MWD...Weapons of Mass Destruction is not Massive Weapons of Destruction. They don't have to be big in size to affect massive death...hence the name "mass".
A standard size bottle of my favorite cologne, Polo, filled with anthrax, ricin or VX could kill a massive amount of people. The Left is never going to understand this, until it happens to them. And you know who they will blame when that happens...
LOL!! Great pic!!
Did she ask him what that was all about?
"a yes, no, maybe, bowl of mush."
That is incredible.
"K:.... it depends on the outcome ultimately...
DS: So if it turns out okay, it was worth it?
JK: NO"
THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!
I do not think words do justice to this. It is AN EXACT flip-flop just a few sentences later.

Years from now Political Science students will be studying Kerry in the "101 THINGS NOT TO DO WHEN YOU'RE A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE" class. Can anyone name one thing this guy has done right? From his VP choice, to his campaign stops to where he eats, he just keeps screwing up. But it shows one core problem: if you don't have firm beliefs, you will always get tied up when answering questions. It's almost sad.
