On Imus this morning John Edwards was listing the failures in Irag including the fact that terrorists from all over the world are converging there. Isn't it better to have Iraq as the magnet for terrorists rather than the US?

I seem to recall them converging in NYC on 9/11.

I didn't hear the interview however, earlier in the morning (when I was driving to work) Imus was sounding like Michael Moore in his rendition of bumper-sticker sound-bites.

Desperate whinings of a boy sent to do a man's job.

Folks, hold your breath - and nose. This will all be over with in a few weeks.

No, no!

It is, according to the Democrats, much much better to pull our troops out of Iraq, and hire more "first responders" here at home.

That way we will be safer at home if the terrorists choose to attack here (safer to respond to any attack swiftly, forcefully and with the backing of the UN and a powerful international coalition of allies).

Additionally, with no particular "magnet" anywhere in the world, the terroristts will thus be freed to disperse across the face of the globe, destabilizing more nations, and more nations more effectively, than if they are focussed and concentrated in one area where our military can kick the living snot out of them on a daily basis.

As Jay Severin says, Kerry picking Edwards as his running mate was the campaign equivalent of a boob job. All looks, no substance.

"Isn't it better to have Iraq as the magnet for terrorists rather than the US?"

That was the idea. Bush said we were going to bring the fight to the terrorist from day one! Bush haters know this
is a genius plan, and are ignoring it.
As soon as Kerry takes that stance, the haters will parade in the streets with glee!!

Edwards on Imus

What a study in contrasts.

A vain, self-promoting, idiotic assclown, and a vain, self-promoting, idiotic...wait a minute.

I want to know why, why, why Edwards ain't getting the Quayle "treatment"? Everyone knows how when Quayle was running for v.p., scorn and ridicule was heaped upon him as an inexperienced, vacuous pretty boy. And when W was running for Pres., there were the Quayle comparisons as well. But there's total silence about Edwards on this, you could hear a pin drop. Oh, I forgot, he's a dem so it's okay.

I listened to the interview. Imus asked Edwards why they were upset by the GOP dirty tricks. Surely, they remembered the foul tactics the Pubs had used against McCain in the primary.
This is one of those persistent legends kept alive by the Dems. Another one is that all of the claims made by the Swiftees had been disproved. All fodder for the lazy and the stupid.

The part of the interview that sticks in my mind is the portion discussing the debates.

Imus asked Edwards about the 32 page agreement, including who sits, who stands, what camera angles, etc.

Edwards replied, "They got everything they wanted, everything!".

What does this imply about the negotiating skills of the Edwards-Kerry team? Obviously their surrogates were negotiating with the Bush surrogates, but who picks the negotiators? Who instructs the negotiators on what points can't be negotiated, etc?

What does it say about their ability to pick negotiators? (Bush picked James Baker, heh heh)

If this little debate negotiation is an example in microcosm of the real world, where would a Kerry-Edwards foreign policy lead us?
