YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE THIS ABOUT PROCTER & GAMBLE, SO WE INCLUDED THE PROOF!

Dear [reader],

Suppose I told you Procter & Gamble created and ran an ad that showed two men (in fuzzy focus at top center of the ad) in bed after an apparent sexual encounter.

Suppose I told you the ad showed clothing scattered across the floor like the two men were in a hurry to get undressed and get into the bed.

Suppose I told you the P&G ad was captioned with these words: "You were more concerned with taking them off than folding them up." (In other words, the two men just could not wait to get into bed to have homosexual sex.)

Suppose the ad goes on to say that you can use Downy Wrinkle Release, a P&G product, to unwrinkle your clothes left on the floor in your haste to get into bed.

Suppose I told you this ad, which leaves the impression that homosexual sex is normal, thrilling and exciting, was created by P&G and run in a homosexual publication called Xtra.

There should be no doubt P&G is aggressively promoting the homosexual agenda. A company doesn't create and run an ad that leaves the impression that homosexual sex is thrilling and exciting unless they support the homosexual agenda.

It should come as no surprise when P&G supports homosexual marriage. This is the company that has aggressively come out in favor of repealing the law in Cincinnati which forbids giving homosexuals special rights, but at the same time has refused to support the Ohio Marriage Protection Amendment which defines marriage as being only between one man and one woman.

Remember, this is the company that said they "will not tolerate discrimination [against homosexuals] in any form, against anyone, for any reason." To keep homosexuals from being legally married is discrimination [for good reason] that P&G says they will not tolerate.

American Family Association is asking individuals to:

(1) Boycott three products of P&G — Crest toothpaste, Tide detergent, and Pampers diapers. (Make sure your replacement is not a P&G product. Look on the back of the product.)

(2) Call Chairman A.G. Lafley at 513-983-1100 and politely let him know that you are participating in the boycott and will ask others to do the same.

(3) Click here to register your support for the boycott.

(4) Please forward this to your friends and family. They will have to see it to believe it, also.

(5) Click here to print out and distribute the boycott Crest, Tide and Pampers petition.

Substitute a man and a woman, and I would still be offended. I'm sick of the over-sexualizing of everything in our society. And now it's a laundry product, for god's sake! But that's just me. I'm against porn, unlike many of the FR posters. Tsss, call me a conservative!

I'm not big on boycotts. I haven't boycotted any of the companies (or music groups) proposed by posters on FR, but I think I'll boycott Proctor & Gamble. Their ad sounds pretty repulsive. I'm not even anti-gay, just anti having it thrown in my face.

Yeah, it was in a gay paper, so it's not a big deal.

My beef, though, is with a Cingular ad they showed a while back. In it, they had a bunch of couples going off about why their cell phone bills were so high, and they found out that it was from talking with their signifant others (I.E. They switched from one couple to another, with one member of the couple looking through their phone records, and then screaming "YOU!" at the other member). Well, one of those couples were to guys, in the bathroom of a bedroom in the morning, in their shorts after having gotten up from bed. What the hell?!? And that ad wasn't run on gay tv shows or anything, it was run everywhere. Showing like half-a-dozen straight couples, and then they threw in an obviously gay couple. What was up with that?

the company pulled its support of the Dr. Laura show after she criticized the homosexual lifestyle.

That's when I stopped buying P&G products. I'd bought Crest toothpaste and Tide for more than two decades, but no more. Haven't bought them in ages. No more of P&G's Millstone coffee in the house, either. And whenever I have the opportunity to steer someone away from buying P&G, I do.

Re: affirmative action

Someone may be a Republican and for affirmative action. I don't like making race the sole criteria for affirmative action. I prefer factoring in, as a factor, economic conditions of the person's upbringing, rather than race. But its not the only factor. There's nothing wrong with that, as I see it.

I really see no connection between this ad and other shady stuff P&G may do. There may be reasons to boycott P&G, but my point all along was: This isn't one of those reasons.

What I want to know is what are the repos of this fine organization doing hunting and pecking in gay magazines and newspapers? What did they expect? And maybe they have a closeted interest in pouring over the pictorals and other stuff? Hahaha.

Haha, that's a great line! I can't really say as I don't know the man. I can say there must be better uses of time than pouring over gay magazines and newspapers looking for stuff to offend your sensibilities.

I remember seeing concerned people on tv talk shows during the 80s who would discuss the vileness of porn on home video, and casually mention their long hours documenting it.

Gee whiz, people, what's there to document? There's probably one or two dozen things that go on and everything after that is just different permustations of the 'dirty dozen.'

What do they do, have meetings in one member's house, pop in a porn video, make popcorn, and all watch and jot down stuff on their notepads? Try telling me there's not something whacked out with that, huh? People like this aren't conservatives - I honestly don't know what they are, really.

Each side of the political spectrum has its share of loopies - it's just that our loopies seem to have odd sexual hangups, and that their loopies are just far more numerous! :-)
