Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs yesterday expressed displeasure with a pair of officiating calls in Washington's 21-18 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, and the NFL responded by conceding its crew made two mistakes. A club source said league officials reviewed the two plays in question a pass interference call on Redskins cornerback Walt Harris in the first quarter, and a no-call on a deep pass to Rod Gardner in the fourth quarter. The league conceded error in both cases.

IT'S A GAME
Not true. I'm in a Blue State (IL) and 'like' the Cowboys, and have for years and years - after Da Bears of course.
The Cowboys were years ahead of every other team in how they scouted, rated and drafted players -- Computerization (Tex Schram was a genius in that respect). While teams like 'Da Bears' were stuck in the 1940's with that stoo-pid 'BLESTO'; Bears, Lions, Eagles, Steelers scouting combine.
And Da Coach did play for them, so that helps too.
why are those girls standing like that? ... aren't their backs ok?
Exactly right. Who cares? Mistakes matter on the ground in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. This is a friggin game played by many who are punks. I like Joe Gibbs but he should have run for a Senate seat if he was bored with racing.
Long-time Redskin fan here. Gibbs was horrible. You have one of the premier running backs in the league who can practically gaurantee 5 yards a pop and you spend the entire first half trying to prove (futile as it was) that you have a passing game? 1st and goal and you send your quick and speedy running back straight into the line multiple times? Clinton Portis is no Gerald Riggs. And that's a good thing. Use the kid's speed and quickness. Sorry, but Joe Gibbs had his head up his butt. And I actually like the guy (except I am a DEI fan...)
LOL! How many times was Gibbs in the red zone and had to settle for a field goal?
If you have to blame the refs for a loss, you didn't play hard enough.
Speaking of D-backs who could bring the "wood", Jack Tatum once remarked that he would try to hit an opposing play so hard it would make his "snot bubble". He usually came through.
He'd run as a Republican. He has donated to R's. (no d's on the list I looked at yesterday.....some link, "meat...."-something or other)
Gibb's is a class act. Why he appeared to snub Pacells is something I'd like to know. Completely out of character for him.
I pay almost no attention to pro football and didn't know anything about that. Guess I should go back and scan some more of the thread.
Gibbs appears to be a been-there-done-that kind of guy. For his sake I hope the Redskins gig was not a 'trying to go home again' kind of thing.
On the First Call, Glenn CLEARLY grabbed a handful of Jersey and threw the guy off balance, to prevent an interception and possibly get the PI call.
Smart recievers do it all the time. Had that Been a JET covering him, I would have burst a Blood Vessel, but, I hate Washington....lol
The officiating in the Viking / Philly Monday night game should be looked at too!
He is the reason Brady looks so good.
Write it Down NOW. IF Weiss leaves NE, they will never be the same again.
The Dallas Cowboys..."America's Team"...the best looking and original NFL cheerleaders...Bill Parcells is one of the very best coaches in football...end of story!!!
Huh? This is totally wrong.
And afterwards was on the Cowboys coaching staff for years. He was great.
I'm for Dallas but the officials really blew those calls. They were obvious and probably changed the outcome of the games. I don't like to win games like that.
And those two teams are obviously mutually exclusive.
Before anyone flames me for what I'm about to say, sinkpur here has heard me talk about how big a Tuna fan I am, and have been since he coached the giants. But....
I've seen it discussed on football message boards that many longtime members of the NFL coaching fraternity have lost respect for Parcells.
And this Peter King article talks about why.
Again, I'm just reporting what I've read.
Go falcons.
