Obama is spending very little time in IL. He's running from all but two debates. He has not been able to drive a message. He spent all his money building name ID, and now he and his cohorts think it's over.
The Dems are complacent.
Let's take advantage of that.
Just don't tell 'em...shhhhhh....
;-)
Actually, in this state, he'd probably win by a bigger margin since it would be a direct appeal to a sizeable portion of the electorate: the dead.
We'll take it.
Bring friends.
Obama leads by 51 points in the latest Chicago Tribune poll. Keyes' support drops to 17 percent, Tribune poll says. According to this poll, Obama leads Keyes by a margin of 68% to 17%.
So, you'd rather have Obama, eh?
He's not even getting all the GOP vote.
keyes got ripped for moving to illinois to run....but the media in chicago isn't ripping obamasama for moving out of state....
ryan could have had a shot....if he would have stayed in...
i really think he could have gotten the swinger vote....
Back in Revolutionary War days, 'realists' were called Tories.
Important ping...
The side of not posting useless vanities.
Edgar was the only person who could have won.
Ping...
Of course not. But (1) We're GONNA have Obama. Period. That's the realism part -- Obama may be the biggest Senate winner in the Country on Nov 2; and (2) if I have precious time and money to spend on a candidate, it's on a contested race -- like my Burr vs. Bowles contest in NC. It's still winnable.
Is Mr. Keyes planning on staying in Illinois after the November election?
keyes won't stay in illinois after the election....but neither will obama (the seiu candidate)
Let me know when he hits 20% in the polls, that may be moral victory time for Alan.
Big stupid mistake for Illinois Republicans. A hamster would have gotten more votes.
Hamtaro for Senate! :o)
He is cute! And probably has a better grasp on reality! Where can I donate?
It's not useless. We're trying to elect conservatives.
Why don't you go pick on Daschle or something...
"If...the race looks tight by November I'll vote for Keyes, but I just don't see it happening."
Why wouldn't you vote for him anyway? I still remember when Giuliani ran the second time (when he won for the first time) and my liberal friend and I actually knew more people who were going to vote for the Conservative Party candidate than for Giuliani. That was all because of the candidates views on abortion, but it was interesting, esp. for my friend who learned her Jewish co-worker was a staunch, single-issue, pro-life voter. But that was just anecdotal, as history records it Rudy won.
But who will you vote for if Keyes looks a loser? Obama? Some other person? There is NO SUCH THING as a thrown away vote!
