Just felt a quake here in the Fresno area...

...no location yet.

The city and county of Fresno is located in the central San Joaquin Valley of California. To the west it is predominantly flat, with thousands of acres devoted to agriculture. To the east, the snow-capped Sierra Nevada Mountains rise out of the low foothills. It is the only county in the country that can claim three national parks in its backyard.

We actually felt one back in 96 in the summer. I was in a datacenter and we thought a truck hit the building or an embankment. Would scare the *&&^% out of me now after 9/11. (Michigan has DEEEEEEP bedrock but still feels a shift once in a while. The bowl formed from 10000's of years of glaciers is still rising back up after they left.

This is quite a swarm of quakes at that Parkfield location. Ranging from about 6 down to several at 4-5. My old friends there are probably changing their underwear.

Daughter just reported in from San Luis Obispo - her roommates felt it; she didn't notice it. Guess she isn't quite a local California girl yet.
