More evidence the Democrats are planning an Election Day surprise for George Bush.
NewsMax's recent "Insider Report" revealed that the Democrats and their 527 groups,
as well as the major unions, were launching an unprecedented $300 million "get out the vote"
effort to defeat President Bush.
Republican strategists have warned the Democratic efforts may be laying the groundwork for massive vote fraud on Election Day.
Insider Report also detailed that Democrats have been outregistering Republican voters by a factor of 5 to 1 in Ohio and Florida.
But now there is word from Iowa that the Democrats are preparing to snag that state through "voter efforts."
The Des Moines Register details that as of last week 199,592 absentee ballots have been requested -- with most of these coming from Iowa's 20 largest counties.
As the New York Times put it, "Under Iowa law, anyone can request an absentee ballot, no questions asked . . . "
And who is asking for these ballots?
The paper said that a study of the state's 20 largest counties found that "roughly three times as many Democrats as Republicans" have requested ballots.
The Democratic operation in the state has not gone unnoticed by Republicans.
Republican Congressman Jim Leach told the Times the Iowa Democratic Party "has now become the single best organized political party in the entire country."
Back in 2000 Gore lost Iowa at the polls, but still eked out a 4,144 victory after absentee ballots were counted.
With every vote crucial in this contest, Democrats are clearly leaving nothing to chance
I am in Des Moines and got the same message. It said there is return postage on the envelope and you should mail it in and not give it to anyone who does not carry Republican credentials.
Again, it might just be an attempt to get the base agitated, although I do suspect there is some truth to it, especially given the nature of those two groups.
I hope you have something other than a hunch.
My mom works in an old folks home in Iowa. She works the evening shift. The day shift is solid Democrat and has made sure "all" guests are registered and get their absentie voter card. They also "help" the droolers vote a straight 'rat ticket.
For the first time in history, I think the right side of the political spectrum would be willing to fight to keep Kerry out of office<<<<
ABSOLUTELY! I would hope real Americans would be willing to fight for their country againts ALL enemies - including the democrats.
Bush should win in a lans-slide, but I still do not intend to underestimate the socialists movement in this country being led by office holding democrats.
Socialism is an enemy of this country and should be beaten down as is proper - if that takes dragging all the democrats out of OUR CAPITAL. So be it.
Republicans better get a handle on these efforts by Dems to execute the most massive campaign of vote fraud in the history of this country.
Bush may have a huge lead with voters, but with all the fake registrations and absentee ballots being ginned up by Dems, we may see this election going to Kerry.
This election may be stolen. The Dems this year have no compunction whatsoever about blatantly cheating the system to get their guy in the White House, law and civility be damned. It's all about winning.
You'll notice the big push to get college students to vote. The reason is that college students can effortlessly vote twice, once in their college town and once by absentee ballot in their home district. They also tend to lean heavily toward Democrats.
Hey JasonC
A great many would say that there is nothing wrong or illegal with "helping" people to vote. I think a drooler should not be voting.
That's why I think a person should have to vote in person and show a valid ID. If you cann't find a way to the poles on election day - too bad. Except for the military - of course.

HEWITT: Yesterday, John Fund gave a little talk where I was at and he noted that the Democrats have already lined up with a division of about 10,000 lawyers sort of a strike force and that the country should be prepared for not one but many Floridas. Do you agree with that assessment, that warning.
ROVE: I think Democrats have decided that they are going to try and effect in court the election. Yes, theyve already begun filing lawsuits trying to knock down either Federal or state provisionsthat do things such as for example, provisional voting. This is where if a voter is challenged, they are as to whether they are able to vote, they can vote, but the vote is set aside so that it can be researched and a decision made as to whether or not that vote was cast by a person who was both capable of voting and was that person. They are trying to knock that out in states. In other states for example, in Missouri they are trying to get rid of the requirement that there be positive identification at the polls. You remember last time in Missouri Democrats went to a pet judge and got that judge to literally to allow polling places in certain parts in St. Louis City to be kept open after the time that state law requires polls to be closed. We had to go find a judge to enforce the law that said that all polls must close at a fixed time and the people that are standing in line at that point would be allowed to vote. It is clear that that Democrats have got an organized and deliberate effort to lets say to extend and distort election laws in ways that would benefit them.
HEWITT: Do you have a team that s sort of looking at sort of the campaign after the campaign already?
ROVE: Well, I dont want to get into details but this is a problem that weve been aware of for quite some time.
She was unaware of anything but at least was interested.
I called the Bush headquarters. They told me to call the county auditor's office and the Sec. of State's office.
I think we have work to do.
Personally, I can't believe that phone banks are worth the effort. I was asked to work on one by the Michigan GOP.
Trust me they do! Fear not folks....the Republicans are in the WH....Bush will not be cheated out of this election.
I hope to God, you're right.
>I got a phone call from the Iowa GOP stating that MoveOn and
>ACT (and other shadowy groups, they called them) were going
>to pose as poll officials to collect absentee ballots.
Collect them from where?
I live in the state, and have voted absentee in each of the last several elections. Most people here mail in absentee ballots.
Yeah, you know ol' Karl's got three dozen plans to deal with this.
W doesn't call him "turd blossom" for nothing! :D
I would guess that since it is known there will certainly be an all out effort to act against it.
