Kerry's Catholicism [The Anti-Christ]
The Boston Globe ^ | September 28, 2004 | By James Carroll

Posted on 09/28/2004 4:18:19 AM PDT by johnny7

IN LABELING John Kerry "wrong for Catholics," the Republican National Committee is lying about the meaning of Catholic faith, insulting Kerry, and moving the political exploitation of religion to a new low. The Globe's Michael Kranish reported Sunday on the RNC plot to target Kerry's religious unworthiness as a Catholic. Not only do the Republicans distort Kerry's positions on complicated moral questions; they misrepresent the current state of Catholic ethical thought. General outrage is the proper response to this strategy, but Catholics in particular should repudiate it.

And Kerry is neither Irish nor Catholic nor even remotely "ethical" in even a pagan Aristotelian/Platonist sense. You don't have to be an expert on Thomistic natural law theory or Catholic theology to figure out that Kerry's positions are COMPLETELY incompatible with the Catholic faith.

Promoting abortion on demand and the manufacture of human embryos in labs to be slaughtered for medical research have never been permissable for Catholics. Nor could they EVER be. Kerry is hopelessly deranged and off the High-Weirdness radar in Frankenstein land.

re: "current state of Catholic ethical thought."

Apparently, the fuzzy notion is that there is an evolving paradigm in moral theology such that manufacturing human embryos in labs to be slaughtered for parts in high-weirdness Frankenstein experiments could be rationalized. No such "current state" exists for Catholics. This has always been wrong. It always will be. You cannot deliberately murder a numan embryo.

The Kerry strategy seems to be to try to weave as fuzzy and cloudy a web of confusion over liberal Catholics as possible. In point of fact, it is not working. Hence the panic among psychotic libs like this embittered heretic who wrote this piece of hysteria.

Kerry's recent transformation, turning orange, appears to be the work of God at exposing a fake Catholic advocating crimes against humanity. God has a way of flushing out such punks and scoundrels. Kerry is a complete dork for not realizing this. He is going to lose the election because of his Malthusian and anti-life delusions.

As with Pinocchio, going against the truth eventually has visible and distinctive effects.

"Damian, put the dog down Damian!"

Kerry probably has 666 on the back of his head.

I have more respect for the junkie poet Jim "Catholic Boy" Carroll says than this Self-hating Catholic any day of the liturgical calendar.

OK, let's try again.

I asked johnny7 if he was suggesting Kerry was the Anti-christ. You supplied scripture and commentary on the Anti-Christ, but didn't answer the question I posed to johnny7.

Are you saying Kerry is the Anti-Christ, or aren't you?

Well, that's a bit different than the RNC running the ads, isn't it? Carroll's an idiot.

I'm saying NOTHING about Kerry at all, merely pointing out what the SCRIPTURE says about the AC.

(lots of folks THINK they know, others have merely heard the words and number bandied about. I just posted verses for accuracy's sake.)

I'm not a Catholic, so you Catholics can correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Pope or a high-ranking bishop just make a public statement that while some moral questions such as capital punishment and war are debatable, abortion is not debatable? Catholic teaching is simply that abortion is wrong. This is not an elusive, difficult search for truth; it is a clear teaching of the Church.

That's the essence of it. The statement was made by the cardinal prefect for the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith (formerly known as the Inquisition). He's the pope's "#2 man."

I have a "Vote Catholic, Not Kerry" bumper sticker on my car. It has recieved uniform praise until yesterday. A guy almost killed himself and me trying to pull alongside me to yell, "I'm Catholic and I am voting for Kerry..(Explicative deleted.)"

Mine got pulled off my car in diversity-celebrating Massachusetts. Guess I'll have to buy more 8-)
