First Print Story on the Outing of Congressman David Dreier on the Internet
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- San Gabriel Valley Congressman David Dreier is the latest GOP member to be outed as a homosexual Republican by Mike Rogers, former development director for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and his blogactive.com Web site. Doug Ireland, longtime radical political journalist, media critic and self-described purveyor of "investigative opinion," defends the outing and assesses Dreier's political future in this first discussion of the outing in the print media. Already Ireland's story has caused a stir. Several radio stations have called Ireland for comment and many are debating whether Ireland should have kept the story on the Internet. "I have not the slightest doubt that the outing campaign initiated by Mike Rogers' blogactive.com and supported by Raw Story's reporting is accurate in exposing Dreier," Ireland insists. "Moreover, in the course of reporting this story, I talked to a gay member of Congress who has observed Dreier in gay behavior and is 100% sure, as this member told me, that Dreier is gay. And, clearly, Dreier's demagogic political homophobia justifies reporting the outing campaign targeting him."
I just posted a link I found after reading this article. If Smith and Dreier are boyfriends than having him on the public payroll will hurt Dreier.
Malcontents who still hold out hope the GOP will "see the light" and go back to the whacko extreme right wingers.
That's a death wish for the GOP.
Without the "Holy Rollers" there would be no Republican Party with enough voters to elect the likes of Reagan, Bush41 and Bush43 President or to give the GOP control of the Congress either.
If you are gay...
The bottom line (pun intended) is that it IS IMPORTANT who the Congressman is and what he is doing in all spheres of his public and private life. While I disapprove of the methodology used here ("outing"), I do not like to suffer hypocrites and their hypocrisy in political matters.
Sooner or later, their hypocrisy will rear it's ugly head and you can bet it will influence their vote on issues that are NOT core to true Republicans.
No, I sure didn't......I must have missed it over the days I wasn't home much.....but I'll sure look for it.
True Confessions would love your story.
Try winning elections woithout us.
Exactly how has he been hypocritical?
And I take it you are now claiming that I, because I am defending Drier, am not a true Republican, right?
It's so good to know I'm not the only one. Thanks for sharing. We pervs must stick together.
LAKELADY IS A CANINE PEDOPHIL!
Try finding another justification for being such prigs.
90 percent of conservatives support George W. Bush and his agenda.
His private life has no reflection with his voting .. hence the reason why Rogers outted him
Rogers is mad because Drier doesn't vote for gay issues
hmm...
Tell it to somebody who can't count.
And you know exactly who I am talking about; not just Christians; the whakcy extreme right wing.
Don't try to bring reason into this.
LOL!
Michael Rogers, the gay activist who outed Dreier Thursday on his site, blogACTIVE, said he was especially interested in talking with Brad Smith about his living arrangements with the Congressman here in DC. He added Thursday that he wondered how Smith felt when Dreier claimed to be dating woman.
Brad Smith is Rep. Dreiers chief of staff. Dreiers 2000 challenger has also said she was aware Dreier was living with Smith.
Rogers was largely responsible for the resignation of Rep. Ed Schrock (R-Va), after he posted a suggestion that the congressman might be gay Aug. 19. He subsequently posted three audio clips which allegedly reveal Schrock leaving voicemails on a gay phone sex service.
Hustler also released a letter sent to the editor of a newspaper in Dreiers district which suggests that the paper deliberately worked to keep Dreiers sexuality and his positions on gay issues off the front page.
I have watched your posts for years, and one thing I can say for sure, you are more of an "anti-Democrat" than you are a "true" Republican.
I've lost count .. how many elections have the constitutional party won??
