First Print Story on the Outing of Congressman David Dreier on the Internet

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- San Gabriel Valley Congressman David Dreier is the latest GOP member to be outed as a homosexual Republican by Mike Rogers, former development director for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and his blogactive.com Web site. Doug Ireland, longtime radical political journalist, media critic and self-described purveyor of "investigative opinion," defends the outing and assesses Dreier's political future in this first discussion of the outing in the print media. Already Ireland's story has caused a stir. Several radio stations have called Ireland for comment and many are debating whether Ireland should have kept the story on the Internet. "I have not the slightest doubt that the outing campaign initiated by Mike Rogers' blogactive.com and supported by Raw Story's reporting is accurate in exposing Dreier," Ireland insists. "Moreover, in the course of reporting this story, I talked to a gay member of Congress who has observed Dreier in gay behavior and is 100% sure, as this member told me, that Dreier is gay. And, clearly, Dreier's demagogic political homophobia justifies reporting the outing campaign targeting him."

Why is it a strawman argument, because you can't refute it?

I'm sorry, I think you're talking about the Libertinian Party. The GOP has long been the conservative party and has never really been about deconstructing society. If these issues were not once hot button, it is only because our society had not been so degenerate.

That had to be the most apt -- if inadvertent -- admission of party over principle that I've ever seen.

While I find Drier's (alleged) preference distasteful if true, I'm more disgusted by his open borders philosophy

So what do we have now? A 12 term, lifetime, career politico, that has done nothing but pander to illegal aliens, and now we are told he's a homosexual?

Oh boy, another hard core conservative! Let me guess, are they thinking of running this guy for President one day?

Just the ticket eh?

No, I am not wrong; the GOP has NEVER EVER been about telling people what they can and cannot do in their bedrooms until the Holy Rollers took over back in the '80s.

They can't be gone soon enough.

Why is it a strawman argument

Because it fits the definition we learned in logic class.

because you can't refute it.

Too easy to refute. Check Dreino's voting record. BTW, Howlin did you see my ping to you re the songs I wrote? check the topof my profile page. Hope you enjoy them :o)

I was appalled with the gay makeover of an NFL player at halftime of Monday Night Football. "Queer Eye" guys were doing their stupid crap like it was a big joke. Sickening.

Look for a fire and brimstone display from Mt St Helens followed by Yellowstone. What a wakeup call that would be.
Soddom and Gamorrah comes to mind. :)

To be fair, Hadenuf has been against Drier all along.

In fact, to be fair, I think he's been against Bush all along, too.

He is very consistent and doesn't discriminate. He grumps about this with everyone.

Up until very recently, divorced men would NEVER be allowed to be elected and certainly NOT for president. If we had held to that, there never would have been a President Reagan and the world would be a much sorrier place for that.
