I surmise he must be upset that his parents spent so much hard-earned money sending him to journalism school and nobody has heard of him.

Aha! I have long suspected that ALL Generation Xers have "issues" with their parents and we, alas, must all suffer along with them.

Classic stuff. If I had to make up a passage epitomizing condescending cluelessness, it would be hard to beat this. The tendency of leftists to change questions of fact into questions of motive is fully in evidence here, and as a nice ironic touch the author blathers on about the importance of facts while getting his own fact noticeably screwed up. I tell you, the man has talent. No ordinary man could be this lazy and foolish.

A journalist w/o integrity can subvert any system of checks and balances no matter how many layers. Just like a crooked CFO can fool an army of auditors. After all, didn't the NYT find that out the hard way with Jason Blair? Isn't CBS learning that lesson right now? Formal checks and balances just prevent honest mistakes, not intentional misrepresentations. On the Internet, it has to survive everyone - i.e, a system of infinite depth.

What's pathetic about this journalist goes beyond his petty arrogance and elitist patronage....

He still hasn't come to the conclusion that he does nothing...absolutely nothing....

He writes about people who do something...who contribute to society....

He's a Walter Mitty living through other's accomplishments....

On the flip side, I've accomplished things...I've testified before Congress and the FCC, recognized by the Federal Court and several state courts as an expert witness. Built telecom systems all over the world, and in places most people would not want to go. Started companies, raised venture capital etc.

I'm a blogger and in my p.j.'s......and damn proud of it....Long Live Free Republic!

And no legal framework to face.

Yeah, right.

Thanks for the great find. Apparently the vaunted "journalist" Jason Winders is testing his mettle in the world of broadcasting. Where do you suppose he developed the talent to speak on the radio. Why, without the checks and balances and attention to the clock necessary for broadcasting, one wonders how this print guy even thinks he is in the same league as professional broadcasters.

They're the spitball shooters in the back of the class. Sort of like newspaper columnists, only with cooler, CB handle-like names.

I distinctly recall going the real name route, until Big Media decided to SLAPP-suit us.

30+ replies in 30 minutes. The world of the internet is truly large. One doubts Jason has had so much attention to anything he has written since he got caught passing that note so Sally in third grade.

Hi, bikepacker:

You also forgot the frozen, wide eyed, Deer-In-The-Headlight gaze that occurs when an elitist discovers there's a new sherrif in town.

Jack.

Jason Winders fails to answer the one question that can completely resolve this issue. Show everyone just one typewriter that was available in 1972 that could produce the memos that 60 minutes showed.

Not 2 not 20 not several hundred. Just show 1 typewriter that could produce those documents that was available in 1972.

Just one.

Is that too much to ask?
