I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.

Changed my screen name in 1999. Been here since mid 1998. I never knew it would be important what your sign up date was back then. I still don't. :^}
Waiting for Bill Barclay, Roger Schultz and Deb to check in. I know the first two are still around...might have to wait for Deb to get in off a location shoot somewhere, for those that know that history.
#400 checking in. Would have had even a lower number but I changed my screen name early on. I think I was here the very first night Free Republic went live. I remember talking to Jim Robinson about a name for this site. At the time, we were posting on the Prodigy Whitewater BB. Jim finally got fed up with the mods over there so he started this here site. So if anybody has any problems with the mods here, you can always do what Jim did and start your own website!

Check it out, three of us signed up on 10/4/98 and are still here. From the number spread I would guess about 100 people signed up that day, all told.
8 September 1998 checking in. Some of us were around before that, but that was back when you had to pound on the jungle drums to post. We lost some great posters to the crocodiles before the Viking kitties ever showed up...
