I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.

I have been visiting FR since 99 but did not formally sign up until 2001.
Despite the fact Ash was a lib, he was an intelligent poster and challenged those who could only reply with talking points. It's said that he/she was driven away simply because they were a lib. Wonder if he/she was the first ZOT victim?

I go back to March 4 1998, and was surprised to find how early a Freeper I in fact was===somewhere a little over number 2000. I don't think I have ever been off this forum except for several days at a time when on vacation in distant lands when a computer hookup was too daunting or downright impossible. Someone posted about a month ago a quick way to find out just what number FReeper you are and I did it once, but can't remember the exact steps to do it, and haven't been able to confirm. But it involved clicking on your name as it appears on a thread, then clicking on
IN FORUM, and looking for the number in the open box following your name. Couldn't seem to do it the second time. ANYONE KNOW THE EXACT PROCEDURE?? I;d also be interested in seeing a list of those first few thousand freepers---there are names from '98 and '99 I haven't seen for YEARS.
