In the waning hours of this year's legislative session, Schwarzenegger's aides told Senate Leader John Burton that the governor would veto a so-called "Car Buyer's Bill of Rights" unless lawmakers dropped the portion letting buyers return a car in three days, Burton said. Auto dealers - among the governor's biggest backers - opposed the provision.

Am I missing something here? I can understand a lemon law, but why should anyone be allowed to take a car for a three-day joyride and then dump it back on the dealer with a bunch of miles racked up, saying, "I don't want it any more."?
Because people are too stupid to transact their own affairs without being able to shout "do over!"

I'm more concerned about the bill Schwarzenegger signed into law forcing insurance companies to provide coverage to the "partners" of people who engage in homosexual acts.
What ever happened to buyer beware? Return a car in three days? That is rediculous.
Most auto dealers give you a 30 day warranty upon purchase. Unless you buy the rare lemon, I don't see the problem.
