I was just wondering if everybody would be willing to post the ideas and philisophies as to why Illegals should not be allowed to have driver's licenses.
it's given:
why dont you tell us why they should?
ummm, ahhh, errr --- because they are here illegally. Deportation would be my offer.
I guess my question to you is why shouldn't we give drivers licenses to EVERY citizen of Mexico, and for that matter why not everyone in Bangladesh? Or should we just give them to the people who gone to ther trouble of breaking our immigration laws?
2. Getting a license enables you to register to vote -- the insipid Motor Voter Law. This is the main motivation for the policy enabling them to get licenses.
The Democratic party survives on the votes of illegals ...
They came in illegally.A drivers liscense is a privilege and not a right. They should have no privilege as an illegal.
1) Driving is a privilege, not a right.
2) Citizens enjoy privileges, not people who entered our country illegally.
3) Drivers licenses encourage people here illegally to stay longer, and encourage others to do so.
4) Treatment of illegal aliens is the primary reason our healthcare system is overwhelmed. Not having private physicians or healthcare, illegal aliens use our emergency rooms as primary care facilities. That's why ER's are closing across the country. (The other reason of course are skyrocketing liability costs brought on by trial lawyers, but the libs will say it's all greedy pharmacuetical companies. Partially true, but the smallest of the three.)
Why is it that in many jurisdictions, you need what is in effect a state license to cut hair, but you don't even need ID to vote?
Is it because the bureaucrats want to defend their exclusive right to 'scalp' and/or fleece?
On a more serious note, why would you want foreign citizens
to vote multiple times in OUR elections,
especially IF the claim on your about page is truthful?

Democrat-inspired election fraud in times past...
Oh, one last thing. If you're 17, why are you so concerned
about voting when you yourself are ineligible?
My question is---why aren't we arresting and deporting them when they show up at the DMV and say "I want a license but I'm here illegally"?
I don't think anyone should BE here illegally. If we find out someone is here illegally--then we should IMMEDIATELY DEPORT them. So why would they need a driver's license since they are not going to be staying unless they come in legally?
Couldn't have said it better!
Licenses are the primary document of citizenship and identification. With licenses, wetbacks would able to steal anything. The pro-license people say that illegals would get insurance and not send the money home to Mexico. If you believe that then you believe that they are "undocumented." They all have LOTS of documents, none really legal in this environment and, generally, proving that they are at least three different people.
A citizens of Mexico or other countries can drive here on a Mexican (or other) license, just as you can drive there on an U.S. license.
1. Since driving is a privilage that isn't even extended to all U.S. citizens, why should we extend it to non-U.S. citizens?
2. A drivers license is a stamp of legal identification. Giving them out to anyone would be sending the message that we don't care to enforce our own laws, so feel free to ignore them.
If people are here illegally, they should be deported. There a huge number of willing immigrants the world over, but people who cheat their way should get special treatment? I think not.
Next question?
Welcome to Free Republic.
So tell us, why do you ask? Is it that you think they SHOULD?
Biggest reason: VOTING
Here are the reasons:
1) Driver's licenses are used as identification for many things in this country, but most dangerously, for voter registration. You may not consider this a danger if you feel that illegal aliens should have the privilege of the right to vote that citizens enjoy.
2) Driver's licenses are used as indentification for boarding airplanes. I don't think I have to explain that further.
3) Illegals are here ILLEGALLY. They are not entitled to the benefits of legal immigrants or citizens. If they want those benefits and rights, they have to assume the requisite responsibilities, including applying for legal immigration status.
There are others, but I think that will do for a start.
