I just got back from a trout fishing trip with some friends. Somehow Kerry came up, and I mentioned the fact that the War Remnants Museum in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City has a photograph of John Kerry honoring him as a NORTH Vietnam war hero, and that this made Mr. Kerry a traitor to his country.
A friend of a friend who was fishing with us WENT OUT OF HIS MIND. He said it was a lie, and the the Bushes were this and that and the other thing. I offered to give him my copy of "Unfit for Command" and he said there was nothing but lies in it, even though he has never seen it.
It was pretty incredible. There are some deeply disturbed Liberals out there right now, and like all people who wear "peace" on their sleeves like "the religion of peace," I fear violence when John Kerry suffers a humiliating defeat this November.
If it's not close, they can't cheat, but I am betting that soon you won't be able to tell the difference between a Liberal and an Islamofascist.
Sorry for the vanity, but this encounter really bothered me.
"I am pretty safe. Out of 30 employees two of us are Republicans, the owner and myself. I especially like to bring politics up in front of him so I get to watch everyone squirm, it's great!"
Wisdom, it's key to survival. Learn it well and it will serve you well in the long run. Don't count on quick gratifications to carry you through the big picture. Life has a way of doing a U-turn on people and in the future, what if you find yourself being interviewed for your dream job, you get it then find out one of these current co-worker owns the business. Just my two cents worth of experience. Remember play life like a game of chess not checkers.
I work at a University in New York, you have described my coworkers.
I've never met a nice one and thats the truth!!
Richard Clark admitted to doing it without the presidents knowledge.
People use the term "personal inadequacy" to denote some sort of failing on the part of the individual, as in:
PC: Because of his low socio-economic status, the Arab male feels a deep-seated resentment towards western society, springing from his own sense of "personal inadequacy".But this is manifestly, tautologically FALSE.[un-PC: Because of their low IQs, Arabs realize that they will never be able duplicate Caucasian society, and so resent it, hate it, and seek to destroy it.]
Muslims do not hate "The West" [read: "Christianity"] because of any sense of "personal inadequacy" on their parts; they hate "The West" because a wicked, evil, iniquitous document, called "The Koran," instructs them to hate "The West" and to destroy it:
Medina SurasAll of this "personal inadequacy" BS is just psycho-babble nonsense. They hate us because they are evil people following an evil, murderous, pagan religion. Period.
The Chapter of Women
[Chapters from the Koran]
The Harvard Classics 190914But if there befalls you grace from God, he would sayas though there were no friendship between you and himO would that I had been with thee to attain this mighty happiness! Let those then fight in Gods way who sell this life of the world for the next; and whoso fights in Gods way, then, be he killed or be he victorious, we will give him a mighty hire.
What ails you that ye do not fight in Gods way, and for the weak men and women and children, who say, Lord, bring us out of this town 19 of oppressive folk, and make for us from Thee a patron, and make for us from Thee a help?
Those who believe fight in the way of God; and those who disbelieve fight in the way of Tâghût; fight ye then against the friends of Satan, verily, Satans tricks are weak.
Do ye not see those to whom it is said, Restrain your hands, and be steadfast in prayer and give alms; and when it is prescribed for them to fight then a band of them fear men, as though it were the fear of God or a still stronger fear, and they say, O our Lord! why hast thou prescribed for us to fight, couldst thou not let us abide till our near appointed time? Say, The enjoyment of this world is but slight, and the next is better for him who fears;but they shall not be wronged a straw.
... Why are ye two parties about the hypocrites, when God hath overturned them for what they earned? Do ye wish to guide those whom God hath led astray? Whoso God hath led astray ye shall not surely find for him a path. They would fain that ye misbelieve as they misbelieve, that ye might be alike; take ye not patrons from among them until they too flee in Gods way; but if they turn their backs, then seize them and kill them wheresoever ye find them, and take from them neither patron nor help, save those who reach a people betwixt whom and you is an allianceor who come to you while their bosoms prevent them from fighting you or fighting their own people. But had God pleased He would have given you dominion over them, and they would surely have fought you. But if they retire from you and do not fight you, and offer you peace, then God hath given you no way against them.
Ye will find others who seek for quarter from you, and quarter from their own people; whenever they return to sedition they shall be overturned therein: but if they retire not from you, nor offer you peace, nor restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wheresoever ye find them;over these we have made for you manifest power.
Adequacy and Inadequacy have nothing to do with it.
"I've never met a nice one and thats the truth!!"
I have met nice democrats and the nasty ones I met or meet, I kill(figuratively) with kindness. So, ie., make lemonade out of lemmons and don't cut your nose off to spite your face. You'll be a better person for it. Don't become that which you despise.
Yeah, I'm on thin ice with a very old friend now as well.
She needs a friend (she's in a pretty bad way physically)and for most of our conversations, we stick to safe topics and avoid the Elephant (no pun intended) in the room.
But before she hangs up, she can't resist getting in some dig. I really upset her once by telling her it is a religion with her. It is and facts have no relevance.
She also worships Dan Rather. This has to be hard on her, but I'm sure she's figured out in her mind that he is the hero and nasty republicans are at fault.
I just wish Nixon were alive to see Rather finally taken down.
Actually, I do have some liberal friends and relatives, and I love them dearly. Happily, some of them will be voting for President Bush in November, I presented them with the facts and they decided for themselves to vote for President Bush :-) These liberal friends and relatives are completely different from the liberal 'elite' that I have encountered working at the University.
Don't become that which you despise
add: But there will always be a Judas, a Moore, a Maher and they are the exceptions to the rule. Give them enough rope to hang themselves.
Aye, there are those. :(
What's worse, she even posted a picture of herself...
These people are delusional. Think about it though. If they haven't figured out their candidate is a fraud by now, your rational and logical points will probably make no difference. Having said that, we must continue to try. There is a small percentage that is open to hearing the truth.
You must have struck a nerve to cause Michael Rectenwald to sent such a hateful e-mail message to you. Several times I have struck a nerve with some of my own family members - at which point point they went ballistic. It's all part of the game I guess. It surely makes for interesting "heated" discussions!
ya'll are right of course....Im never mean to them.. back in the clinton days I had to actually leave the tennis court many days to keep from smacking some of them with my racket...
I think maybe I was wacky to them over my clinton rants.. but I couldnt STAND there and hear them take up for him thumbing his nose at the law of our land, by lying under oath and no one seemed to "get it" that it was against the law and it was no big deal...ole "NOW" became "LATER" when clinton was in office.. they never ONCE came out and took the side of those women he molested..
You're not spamming. You're offering a reasonable viewpoint.
I saw Pat Caddell on some show talking about the bitterness engendered (at the time) by the Viet Nam war.
He spoke of there being a year when he didn't talk to his parents because of disagreement about this.
He looked close to tears when he said he'd give anything to have that year back.
I eschew political talk among my writer friends; at church; at family gatherings where I'm not sure how people feel.
what's the point?
???
I dont know what you mean??
Rhetorics are what the 'intelligensia' teach to those whose mind would be confused by the facts.....
