"No, and when I think of Dick Cheney, I don't think football."

That's because he isn't out there playing football for a photo-op.

Addendum: WTF does football have to do with the Presidency? Totally different head. 159 posted on 09/25/2004 11:51:29 PM PDT by katdawg

Good question.

"Touch football" was a famous photo-op gesture of liberal social folk kero Bobby Kennedy, presidential candidate in 1968 and still an icon and emotive symbol for some Kerry supporters, no doubt.

The...uh..."Gipper" ( The Gipper ) ..., no stranger to the presidency (1980-1988), was also known to toss a football around on occasion with some effect. Particularly, when visiting colleges...like Notre Dame. Football remains a power symbol in the culture.

To the well trained political eye, such as mine, one notices those things. Remember, everything these guys do is purposeful. He would have been better off playing football on a field in Dorchester.

Dorky football ping. Does this guy never learn?

No. Becasue he's too arrogant to comprehend his own dorkiness.

Thank you, Hummingbird!

I should give credit to Ozzie Osborne for that line, except he referred to himself as the "F*ng Prince of Darkness".

Is this an ad for Dockers? I know when I'm gonna play ball with my buds I slide into my fave pair of SLACKS!

Would like to see the next picture in the series, where the pass is knocked down by Kerry's massive face!

I remember a skit from Monty Python, called the Twit of the Year Contest, Kerry should get in that race it is one he might be able to win.

He can't be serious with all of these football photos. He reminds me of some comedian actually trying to look goofy... I can't quite recollect who.

This guy?
