Fox News Bill O'Reilly Admits His Liberalism and Democrat tilt
Wire Reports/The Spokesman-Review | 9-25-2004 | Unknown

Posted on 09/25/2004 5:41:06 PM PDT by lilylangtree

On Sunday's "60 Minutes" during which he is interviewed by longtime CBS newscaster Mike Wallace, Fox News Commentator Bill O'Reilly comes out with some surprising comments. He says he is pro-gun control, anti-death penalty, for civil unions and for gay adoption, (as a last resort instead of state custody). And he won't necessarily vote for President Bush in November.

I've known (Democratic presidential nominee John) Kerry for 25 years. He's a patriot. I'm listening to what he has to say," O'Reilly says.

O'Reilly has said he's against the death penalty because he'd rather the perps be sentenced to hard labor. He feels death is the easy way out for them.

I know he's said several times that to consider whoever Usama bin Laden would support for President. Then vote for the other guy. And combined with other things he's said, he implies he's supporting Bush.

But I'm still very disappointed with O'Reilly in his treatment of John O'Neill. O'Reilly, like others, seemed to dismiss the SBV's charges against Kerry, as if the Vets have no right to their feelings, even though Kerry trashed them severely upon his return from Vietnam.

In my opinion, John O'Neill is the most credible person I've ever heard. He's been after Kerry for 30 years now, and would be revealing Kerry's lack of character even if Kerry was running for dog catcher. I wish O'Reilly and the rest of the MSM would listen to the SBV's; there is nothing, to date, that has been proven to be untrue regarding any of their writings about Kerry.

I don't want to get banned, so I will not use the words I've used to describe that phoney for a LONG time now.

He is slime!

I have more respect for Dan Rather than I do him. At least Rather didn't lie and try to present himself as a conservative.

The BORe can go jump off a cliff for all I care.

This cracks me up. Liberals bash O'Reilly for being too conservative and conservatives bash him for being too liberal.

Mostly I get sick of O'Reilly's continuous attempts to portray himself a "fair and balanced" by simply pretending to be in the middle of every issue. It's simple minded and transparent.

However while he may be liberal on some issues, I would say he is overall conservative even though he tries to hide it.

And if you read between the lines you can find statements that are thinly disguised endorsements of President Bush.
For example, he has repeatedly said this election should hinge on one thing; Who will best protect the American people against the threat of terrorism.

We know and O'Reilly knows that polls consistantly show Americans by a wide margin trust Bush in the war on terrorism over Kerry.

IMHO this is the same thing as O'Reilly is saying he is voting for Bush and that so should we.

I think you have something there. Add to that the dubious distinction of being recognized Nationally as the original "Inside Edition" host. Not very 'up-market' at all.

Not at all surprised. On the other hand, I think he's willing to do whatever it might take to increase his market share, bank account, and ego inflation.

"Fox News Bill O'Reilly Admits His Liberalism and Democrat tilt". This is not news to me. I've been telling people that ever since he started writing his books and selling his gear his head has started to explode. I remember when he used to be on one of those entertainment shows and did nothing but puff pieces. Guess when you socialize with the liberals you end up becoming one.

I am not the least bit surprised. After reading his book, and his recent comments here, I knew he was a liberal. I have never been particularly fond of his commentary to begin with.

BOR is a McLame clone!

Such elitists think it is cool to be middle-of-the-road "independents". Remember Bill spent a lot of time in Boston. Hard for any conservative to come away from there without being tarnished much less a liberal going to Bean town. Also, my wife thinks 'ol Bill has a sex addiction --- she says she often sees that look of lust in his eye!

If Bill O goes to CBS, it would love to see Laura Ingrahm take his place. I thought she was incredibly powerful on his show.

What would be a good name for her show?????

Hey, Bill is entitled to his opinions on any issue. I stopped watching him after "W" got elected. He's too obnoxious, self centered and rude for my taste. Frankly I don't see how he gets his ratings?

No real surprise. I watched him regularly for a long time.

Then I found myself shouting at the TV when he was talking, and I suddenly realized it was over.

Can't stand Hannity, though I agree with nearly everthing he says. Britt Hume gives Vacant Juan way too much time for my taste.

The conservatives need a network, 'cuz Fox seems adrift and sliding left.

Is anyone surprised? Not I, nor have I been for many moons.

Anyone who watches the O'Bloviator and contributes to keeping this phony liberal hack on TV, is working incognito for Kerry and the liberals.
