Not enough info to go on...
I've seen the ad. Wonder how anyone would track this down?
Is it the Kerry campaign ad or a 527 Move On ad? Just curious. Any idea of what the ad says?
Start from the beginning... what state?
What state is this about?
Not much to go on is right.
It's a Houston station....
This site lists folks that voted for Bush in 2000 and are changing their vote this time:

I dunno - Keep Digging Freepers
What's the name of the guy in the commercial? I am sure there are some FReepers who can do a criminal background check.
I'm not gonna watch their ads, but none of the many videos at the Kerry website look like what you describe. It may well be a 527 ad.
e-mail the info to RNC, maybe they can look into it. Looks like someone should be able to check with the radio host, he should still have the tape of the conversation.

Since you are the one, who heard it, it would be better if you told them about it, and specifically where and when did the ad run, if you know.
Have you ever read "The Mystery of the Aleph" by Amir Aczel?
It sounds too good to be true, but accurate. Dan Rather would run with it (if it were Bush's ad). We should first verify, then run with it.
If it can't be vetted with a source and facts, leave it be.
Anyone remember the Saturday Night Live parody ad for dukakis... "Willie Horton...Horton..Horton..."
The guy is a convicted felon.
It was right at/before the top of the hour (6pm eastern), and Chris Baker was about to go to the top of the hour break. The woman sounded in her 20s, maybe, well spoken/educated, and said that she knew that the person posing in the new Kerry commercial was a convicted felon.
Obviously, Baker (who was only half-listening until this point, it seemed) snapped to and asked her to repeat herself.
If memory serves, she said that it was her "brother in law's father in law" or something semi-convoluted like that, and Baker asked if she were serious about 3 times.
Each time, she fairly confidently replied, "Yes sir" and restated her claim.
Baker then had to cut to the break, but asked her to remain on the line in order to talk to her off the air. That's the last I heard of the exchange, so I can't offer any more info.
BTW, Chris Baker is a pretty well trusted and respected conservative voice on talk radio here in Houston. I can see how the average Republican in Houston, wanting to get this info out in the open, would go to Chris with this story.
wouldn't this be another example of fraudlent evidence in the body of a political commercial. Another lie another forgery of sorts.
Usually actors are used in these ads. Ads and statements don't have to be true in politics. If they did Kerry would be would be dead meat.
