Judging by their play it may be their only win of the year.

I knew there was a reason I wasn't watching the Dolphins play, lately. The stench of defeat was definitely in the air.

Dolphins might get money but lose Ricky from this morning. This claims that Ricky will file bankruptcy and since the contract will be nullified, the Phins will lose their rights.
I think it is wrong. Because he retired, Ricky is their private property for 3 years. Barry Sanders had the same problem. He couldn't just wait for his contract time to expire and unretire.

If this decision stands then the entire NFL salary cap scheme will be invalid. This decision means that all signing bonuses should be prorated over the length of the players' contracts. All contractual language aside this decision announces that signing bonuses are simply prepaid salaries.
If the decision stands it will prove to be a victory for the Dolphins and a loss for Ricky William, but the NFLPA will have incredible leverage when it comes to negotiating their next collective bargaining agreement. The owners will not be able to argue for a salary cap given one of their member's declaring it to be a sham.
