Fogerty Sang "Deja Vu All Over Again" on "Good Morning America" today. I wanted to post my opinion on this but there was no post. This song is pure crap, all the peacenik stuff...vintage John Kerry...
"Deja Vu" (All Over Again) ? Or, is he simply stuck in Lodi???
The melody lines of most protest songs sound like cats wailing.
Where's Peter, Paul and Mary?
Based upon Mary's recent appearance on PBS, I'd say she ate Peter and Paul...
She suffers from Linda Ronstandt syndrome...:-)
What I found VERY interesting about the A&E live request show was the LOUD BOOS when Bruce Springsteen's name was mentioned...which, at least for this show, also sent a message to Fogerty.
Like we're supposed to listen to the wisdom who sold away the rights to all his songs years ago and didn't realize it???
So, does Yogi Berra get any royalties?
You've nailed it - I've been saying the same thing for years. (Heck, maybe it was the last time they ... ahem ... got some.)
Funny thing is, I don't recall Fogerty distinguishing himself in the anti-Vietnam War movement. Probably afraid it would cut into his record sales.
And Fogerty served in the National Guard during the Vietnam era, which makes his "Fortunate Son" song a bit hypocritical, to say the least.
