On our way back home from a family drive on 8/29/04 my wife and I noticed a peculiar mushroom cloud just east of our home in Wellington, UT. We ran into the house and brought our both of our digital cameras and started snapping pictures. Within 2 hours there were three different explosions resulting in mushroom clouds.
We emailed a local news station; they looked into the pictures but to no avail. There were truck drivers parked at the gas station just down from our home, the drivers did not dare drive the road for fear of whatever was happening out there. Pretty scary afternoon, especially during this time of heightened alert in our nation.

Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.Yeah, that's the ticket. Gotta run and get my tinfoil hat. lol

On a serious note, this is within a few hundred miles of the area where the Army stored nerve gas and they had the mysterious sheep deaths about 20 years ago ("but it wasn't gas leakage").

That is just the Kerry Campaign undergoing an extreme thermal self disassembly. Nothing to worry about.

To which PokeyJoe responded (and I concur):
Tree's devoid of vegetation - picture taken well over a year ago during Winter, or late Fall.
Case closed.

They look like big ole thunderstorm-producing cumulus clouds to me...late August is the right time for those guys, too.
Unfortunately, I've deleted and trashed it, but I took a digital shot of one similar and titled it "mushroom cloud - nuclear attack" to spoof all my e-pals. It really did look Nagasaki-esque.

That would be my guess as well. There's a power plant in Valmy Nv. that emits the same kinda plume and i was told the shapes of the cloud is a result of the temp of the exhaust reacting to the various temps in the layers of atmospheres, especially in the fall winter and spring months where inversions are predominant...fwiw

Brush fire. A nuke blast would go up a lot higher on a pronounced stem and would have a round top ascending higher and higher.

If those had been nuclear mushrooms that close to your house, I suspect your house would be flattened, and you would be blind, sick, or both...
