I just watched the rerun of O'Reilly's 2001 interview with Kerry discussing the need to invade Iraq. In that interview, Kerry said the following: "I mean, I was in Safwan. I went there when the signing of the armistice took place at the end of the war." I've watched the video of the cease-fire signing at Safwan. It was still in a combat zone. I don't remember seeing anyone but military officers. Can anyone provide additional insight, or has Kerry lied again.
I wonder if this too was "seared, seared...blah blah blah".
To be fair sKerry doesn't say he was at the actual signing of the armistice but that he was in the city of Safwan when it was signed.
You can bet your bottom dollar he'd like to know. He takes being spun very personally (that "no-spin zone" thing). Send him the entire thread, he'll probably pick up on it as a personal kind of Christmas in Cambodia thing bring played on him?
No one paid attention to free republic or Drudge when Clinton was tormenting us with his spontaneous lies- but Kerry can be had any time and every time- hope O reilly makes an issue of it - Kerry places himself in places where something actually occurs - as if it makes him more of an authority - making others feel small- little do they know he is a con man- when confronted with this lie- he will waste our time rephrasing and dare you to waste time playing the sound byte back- what a sad life he has
BTTT to catch another kerri LIE!!! PJ's on!!!!
exactly, he was near the border of Iraq dropping off some CIA guys. It's all hush-hush. Just ask the guys on his boat.
I don't even believe that much.
That's even worse. Besides being a tiny hellhole (I've flown over it countless times), Safwan was still in the middle of a combat zone with the cease-fire was signed. In fact, within a couple days after the cease-fire was signed, some of the heaviest fighting of the war took place near Safwan. There is NO WAY a United States Senator would be anywhere near there.
Perhaps this is another "seared, seared into my memory" moment.
I think Hannity needs to look into this. O'bore would not want to do anything to keep kerry from coming onto his show!
Unless you have witnesses that were standing in Kerry's underpants -- they are not valid witnesses...
Semper Fi
I kind of doubt he was anywhere near the place. From the time hostilities ended until that armistice was signed wouldn't have allowed for a plane trip from the States into a SAFE area (like Saudi), and then a ride up to the meeting beyond the front lines?
Wonder if he has a souvenir hat from Safwan, too ... tucked into a special compartment of his briefcase.
John Freakface Kerry would never tell a lie, nor would he fabricate a story to place himself into historic events. Of course he was there for the signing of the ceasefire, he saved his favorite hat from the CIA guy who went over the border with him, from Kuwait to Iraq....
What was the date of the signing?
This is insame. If Kerry told another quasi-lie about being somewhere that he's neer been then he's a bigger fool than I thought. Unless he was under the table I don't see him in the picture. Anybody know BOR's direct line?
You're right, Kerry's story doesn't make sense. What would be the purpose of going to some backwater hellhole if you weren't going to be at the actual signing.
I saw a picture that I thought was him for a minute...turned out to be a camel..*sigh*
Where his lips moving? That's usually a pretty good indicator of a lie.
Can the minutes of the Senate for that day be checked. If Senator Kerry was in Washington, he would not have missed a chance to speak (claim credit for victory).
