Reader Mark Sebald draws our attention to this article from today's Washington Times: "Zarqawi's mentor said to be killed by a U.S. hit." The Times reports:

Mr. Sebald observes:
Notice any similarities to the way Israel takes out terrorists? To me this is good news. It implies that U.S. forces are developing intelligence sources and making progress fighting the insurgents. I had thought there would be some reaction to this by now, but so far I haven't seen any.
Maybe if we get lucky, Zarqawi will show up for the funeral.
One would think that this would be breaking news on all the stations and newspapers - but then again, the MSM doesn't want us to know of any progress there.
No daily limit, no caliber restrictions on terrorists. Gotta love it.
I think that was a different strike.
My taxes helped pay for that missle.
And it was worth every penny.
APf
Zarqawi's mentor or mentee?
Well, the MSM must be screaming this like wild fire across the airwaves of the world!! Great news!! One down!! Keep it comin'!! Glad we saw it first here!!!
What's that?
OH, they're not reporting it. What a surprise.
Yea, and hopefully an AC-130 Scepter Gunship will be there to observe the ceremony.
YYYYYYeeeeeeessssssss! Best news I've heard all day.
>>>"Notice any similarities to the way Israel takes out terrorists?"
And, what about the rest of the story?
What about the bulldozing of his family's or host's house(s), like they so effectively do in Israel?
Great use of technology, and good news.
Hoppy
I think the correct terminology is "spiritual leader."
BINGO. This is the best way to get rid of this JIHAD scourge...selective lethal encounters, targeted at their political and 'spritual' leadership wherever they are. You will be seeing this and other quiet but lethal operations more and more I believe.
Actually, the correct terminology might be "crime boss".
How old or young is this Zarqawi a-hole then if the guy that was turned into a grease spot was only 35?
I hope it took him a good 10 minutes to expire.
One wonders just how many of the people who will show up for the funeral were also mentored by this guy. Maybe for once, we really should bomb the funeral party.
Hmmm. Good idea.
I was thinking the same thing -- I suspect the IDF is helping plenty since the Al Qaeda probably cooperate w/ Hamas, the Iranis and the Palies...
