John Kerry: Bush Will Bring Back Military Draft
Washington Dispatch ^ | 9/23/04 | CK Rairden

Posted on 09/23/2004 12:56:12 AM PDT by kattracks

Only two days after many liberals were convinced that democratic presidential John F. Kerry had a watershed moment with his rant against President George W. Bush and the war in Iraq, Kerry moved towards scare tactics in an attempt for votes.

While Kerry was in Florida trying to scare both the young and old, two of the three of the Kerry's camp CBS Memo gang, Max Cleland and Howard Dean are touring colleges spreading the draft rumors.

[snip]

Are they really this desperate?

Michelle Malkin and Betsy’s Page have a copy of an e-mail that is being sent to college students telling them that President Bush will start a “mandatory draft for boys and girls (ages18-26) starting June 15, 2005.”

[snip]

Check both links and read their both ladies analyses. If you want to know who really wants a draft, its John Kerry supporter and ultra-liberal Charlie Rangel of New York.

From CNN:

[snip]

President Bush doesn't want a draft. In his own words:

"We don't need the draft," Bush told a campaign audience in Florida last month. "I'll tell you one way you make (the all-volunteer Army) work. I just signed a defense appropriations bill, which is the fourth year in a row in which we've raised the pay of those who wear our uniform, and the pay's getting better. And the housing is getting better."

The Kerry team apparently has reduced itself to attracting young ignorant voters by trying to scare them in a move of desperation. Up next, scare the old folks as well.

One day the sale will be made that compulsory "voluntary" service will be made. It will be tied to loans for college. Funny that Kerry doesn't support it outright.

Last time I checked it was old Charlie Rangel (D) trying to bring back the draft. Bush isn't going to bring back the draft.

It still amazes me at the change in military housing. My brother's new (rehabed) duplex down in San Diego is the first thing that looks like a home since he moved down there. Then again, I get a kick out of the automatic sprinklers that run for only five seconds in the back yard.. Cheney makes a truthful comment about the threat of terrorism, the MSM gasps and talks about it for weeks. Kerry lies about a draft being sponsored by Bush (which has been floated many, many times by his party) and the MSM report it with a straight face. RatherGate sure taught a lesson to those guys about media bias....

Liberals use scare tactics on every other issue, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised with this.
I'll make a prediction that Democrats will be caught push-polling in battleground states, asking voters, "Are you worried that President Bush is bringing back the draft, forcing young men and women to fight in Iraq?"

Apparently, John F*ckin' doesn't know its Jim McDermott and Charlie Rangel who have proposed bringing back the draft. Why, scare the children in order to get their votes. There's nothing too shameless such as lying to get elected.

Click on the keyword "draftscare" to view related threads and discussion.

Keep in mind that about half the troops deployed are National Guard and Reserves. And below is a quote from Kerry's convention speech:

"We will add 40,000 active duty troops, not in Iraq, but to strengthen American forces that are now overstretched, overextended, and under pressure. We will double our special forces to conduct anti-terrorist operations. We will provide our troops with the newest weapons and technology to save their lives and win the battle. And we will end the backdoor draft of National Guard and reservists."

Donald Rumsfeld was the first Congressman, in 1969, to introduce a bill to abolish the draft and establish an all volunteer army.

This tactic has been going on for a long time. A friend had a Liberal friend that keeps telling her the same thing in an effort to get her to vote for Kerry. It is a known fact that the Democrats are the ones with the renew the draft bill that they want to push thru.

Kerry is such a liar.

Yesterday, Kerry said that we now know there were no connections between Al Qaeda and Iraq.

He must not have read the Senate Intelligence Committee Report or the 9/11 Commission Report, both of which cited the many connections between Iraq and AQ.

A high ranking Iraqi fedayeen soldier attended at least one pre planning 9/11 meeting with AQ.

Saddam knew 9/11 was coming and where we were going to be hit.

Even the Clinton Justice Department was able to obtain an indictment against OBL which cited the terrorist's ties to Iraq.

A federal judge has granted two 9/11 families a multi-million dollar judgement - against Iraq.

During the 90's, the mainstream press wrote about the world's alarm at the growing relationship between Saddam and Osama bin Laden. Old Media thinks we can't look these things up.

Hundreds of articles and links in this thread.

Thanks for the info! If you haven't checked out the new RNC video site yet (or seen the related FR thread), check it out.

More devestating advertising ordinance to use when Kerry starts bloviating about the World being LESS safe after deposing Saddam.

The first debate would be a good place for the President to 'blow back' the draft gambit at Kerry.
