One of my two regrets is that I didn't start posting here long ago. I've read the FR site for years because of the terrific conservative links.

My second regret is that I missed Jim Robinson and crew in Portland last month. I work five minutes from John Barleycorn's. Next time, I would love to have the opportunity to share some stories and a Portland micro-brew or two with some fellow FReepers.

Who Gets The Love?

Read: Luke 15:11-32

Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. —Luke 15:31

Bible In One Year: Song of Solomon 1-3; Galatians 2

A sociologist was writing a book about the difficulties of growing up in a large family, so he interviewed the mother of 13 children. After several questions, he asked, "Do you think all children deserve the full, impartial love and attention of a mother?"

"Of course," said the mother.

"Well, which of your children do you love the most?" he asked, hoping to catch her in a contradiction.

She answered, "The one who is sick until he gets well, and the one who is away until he gets home."

That mother's response reminds me of the shepherd who left 99 sheep to seek the one that was lost (Luke 15:4), the woman who searched for the one coin (v.8), and the father who threw a party when his wayward son returned (vv.22-24).

The religious leaders of Jesus' day resented the way He gave so much attention to sinners (vv.1-2). So He told those stories to emphasize God's love for people who are lost in sin. God has more than enough love to go around. Besides, those who are "well" and are not "lost" experience the Father's love as fully as those to whom He gives special attention (v.31).

Father, forgive us for feeling slighted when You shower Your love on needy sinners. Help us to see how needy we are and to abide in Your boundless love. —Mart De Haan

The One who made the heavens,
Who died on Calvary,
Rejoices with His angels
When sinners are set free. —Fasick

God loves every one of us as if there were but one of us to love. —Augustine

My gut says this is only the beginning. Each day hereon will bring a new revelation, more damaging than the one before. One thing's for sure: With the Clinton A-Team of Carville, Begala, Lockhart, McCurry aboard, the Kerrytanic is taking water and sinking fast. By Election Day, the ship will have sunk. Hillary! will then say, Mission Accomplished. Get set -- the manure is about to hit the fan.

hahaaaa! Good essay, John ! As usual. Thanks.

Excellent! You two did another great job with this essay! It's too hard to pick a favorite line - even a favorite paragraph - but it had me laughing from the beginning to the end, as usual!

Aqua, what a beautiful job with the pledge!

Clever, on-the-mark analysis as usual, Dear John!

You evoke a stunning picture of the Kerrytanic Kruise Ship floating on the Sea of Despair, for certain facing this impediment :

Furthermore, the Good Ship is not heeding the warnings
they have already passed:

The accompanying signs clearly cautioned

Positively convulsed, I did, over your " and says he once happened to overhear a Bush aide order the Texas National Guard to shred all files stamped with 'BUSH IS A DESSERTER!!'. "

Oh my, oh my!
Next we'll see Kerry et al with new signs, proclaiming Bush's old foe paw (I refuse to use the proper french frase..:))

Another great piece John..the only things you left out was screaming howie's phone call from burkett and brother cameron's past 'watergate' breakin for his brother hanoi john

connect the dots..Cleland, Lockhart, Dean, Cahill and Ted Kennedy, Burkett and Ben Barnes..all Dems connected to either the Kerry camp directly or to Texas Dem party. This smells of Watergate coverups.

Strange too is no mention of Cameron Kerry's 'watergate' breakin of his brother's rival during John Kerry's first run for Congress. Eagletribune But there was another, seldom-mentioned element of his 1972 run for 5th District congressman: the wild and wooly nature of the primary election that featured a Watergate-type break-in involving Kerry's campaign staff.

Kerry's younger brother, Cameron, and his campaign field director, Thomas Vallely, were arrested one day before the primary for breaking into a Lowell basement where telephone lines were kept for both the Kerry and DiFruscia campaigns. Their offices were on the same block.

I've seen two referenced to this phone call CNSNEWS Burkett's history with the Kerry campaign and Democratic National Committee also includes phone conversations with former Georgia U.S. senator Max Cleland and former Vermont governor Howard Dean, both of whom are campaigning on Kerry's behalf.

NY POST Burkett said he wanted to advise the Democrats on how to respond to the questions being raised about Kerry's own military record. To that end, he also was able to get former Sen. Max Cleland, a Kerry confidante, and ex-presidential candidate Howard Dean on the phone over the last 45 days.

Dashing through in my jammies to say hello and compliment JH2 on yet another wonderful and humorous editorial. Thank you, Aqua, for bringing him to us today. This one left me smiling all over. :-)

Also, a 'Finest' welcome to Carling! We hope to see more of you here.

I have a stack of portraits in front of me that need retouching. I'll be back when I get to the end of them. Have a wonderful day one and all.

Oh, Oh!

Looks like we may have a forgery here on JohnHuang2 Thursday at FR's Finest...

JH2's quill and ink signature and portrait of him behind that old Underwood typewriter suggest that he wrote this with those instuments, but alas, is sure looks like the text one would get using FreeRepublic's default html fonts.

Call out the pajama brigade. We need a full scale investigation. These forgeries cannot continue. Alert c BS and Dan Rather. We need answers. :)

Another GREAT presentation, Aqua and JH2.
