America's morning TV sweetheart, Katie Couric, wasted no time on Wednesday trying to turn the beheading of Americans in Iraq into political ammunition - asking the brother of executed hostage Jack Hensley if he still supported the war.

Even though I shouldn't be,I am still amazed at the lack of understanding, some people have,as to what we are facing in this war .What will it take to make these people realize, that the people who are hacking off heads of those in Iraq,will be equally happy to do the same to them? Katie Couric,is just one among many,who have not a clue.

As I have said several times on Free Republic, I stopped watching The Today Show years ago specifically because Katie Couric makes me want to puke!
If the grieving soul would only say "I would trade you for him" it would make my day.
Well, Katie Couric is the one who hosted a dinner party for OJ to celebrate his getting away with murder, so this is actually pretty tame stuff for her. I saw the interview--Hensley's brother was quite literally sobbing by the time it was over.
My son has just spent a year in Iraq and is now in Kuwait and if she had asked this question of his older brother a "former" marine (is there such a thing?) he would have given her a slap in the face, and would be proud to serve the time (in jail). Isn't she lucky she only has two girls. What would she do if one of them decided to join the military.
I'll pitch in on a ONE WAY ticket to anywhere but the U.S.

Heck, my 73 year old MIL finally saw the light about Katie Al-Couric.

I know...I never watch the stupid Today show, but today, I caught a glimpse. I felt SO bad for the guy...here he is in the throws of grief, and she tries to use it for her liberal effort to get Kerry elected.
I hate when reporters exploit grieving families. I guess it makes for good news or something, but it is so heartless and cruel. And when Katie is doing it, it is double barf!
