Gil Cedillo was the main force behind this bill, not Nunez.

Wow, I am impressed. I heard about that PC bill he vetoed, and now this!!!

I still am apprehensive about the people he's pardoned, from what I've read, it shouldn't have been done. Unless someone's got different (but accurate) info...

Arnold also spiked a proposal to ban school team names like "Redskins" saying it was up to local school boards. Well credit where credit is due. I'm still not impressed with the .50 cal ban though, but I'll take what I can get.

Let's see how he's done...

- Once repealed the Democrat attempt to give licenses to illegals.

- Now VETOED the Democrat attempt to give licenses to illegals.

- Vetoed a minimum wage increase during tough economic times and a in the midst of an anti-business environment.

- Declined to use state-power to force locals to rename their sports teams.

- Refused to demand economic impact statements from "big box" stores that want to build.

- Repealed the illegal tripling of the car tax.

- Passed a ban on a 50 cal sniper rifle with a 1 mile range.

- Selling off surplus state crap rotting away in warehouses.

- Auditing the state and plans to eliminate new state-jobs by consolidating over-lapping agencies and so forth.
Not such a horrible beginning, Arnold. Now we need to help him *CUT* spending and reduce the UNCANNY Democrat majority in the Legislature.

Here's some red meat for the McClintock faction:

Also today Arnold signed a bill (SB 1234) expanding hate crime victim status to include those believed to be associated with or a member of a protected group. Christian fundamentalist groups claim it will undermine free speech rights of Christians.

Just as a note, it may seem like he's taking a long time but the Democrat legislature has dumped around 900 bills on his desk for veto or signing.

The move was expected after Schwarzenegger cited security concerns in opposing the legislation

I'm sorry, Arnold. Even if it was safe to give illegals licenses we should never consider it because the aliens are ILLEGAL!!! HELLOOOOOOO!

"Determining the true identity and history of an individual is a key component of that protection. This bill does not adequately address the security concerns that my Department of Homeland Security and I have and I cannot support it," he wrote.

You'll notice he doesn't talk about the legality of the aliens. Only the identity. There's still hope for the mexicans.

And, while they are applying for a license, they can be arrested and sent home. This works for me.

Living in CA for 21 years, i know that positive things do not happen here. This is only temporary. Once Arnold has whatever "security measures" built into the driver licences, the illegals will be allowed to get one. And we Americans will suffer in some way for the benefit of the illegals.

Maybe Arnold is starting to understand you can win by really running as a conservative.

There is a typographical error in the first sentence. The word 'illegal' must have somehow gotten in there by mistake.
