The Replica of the Vietnam War Memorial visited our city last weekend.
Although neither of us lost someone close to us. we looked up the names of all those that had died from our home towns. Lest we forget -
We helped an elderly couple fnd a name and when we found it they told us that it was their son's name. We all stood and cried together.
I never protested, I never spit on veterans returning and my husband is a veteran of the Vietnam era who never had to go to Vietnam. Although I was young I never spoke up against the antiwar crowd either. For that I am truly sorry. Al those who kept quiet during this time did our Veterans a great disservice.
We came away with our hearts full and incredibly angry at John Kerry. Never again can we let the leftists in this country do that to our military. We must all speak up.
Thank you all that have served!
