It's the DEMOCRATS who sponsored legislation for a draft. How can Kerry accuse President Bush?

The mainstream media are partisan hacks, and Kerry an outrageous and dangerous liar.

Turn this one around and make them eat it!

Congressman McDermott commented that "I believe that if those who are pushing for war knew that their children might be required to share the burden of that war, there might be a greater willingness to work toward peace and a diplomatic solution. If, despite our best efforts, we end up in armed conflict, then fairness dictates that the sons and daughters of all classes participate."

I think this ploy is going to jump up and bite them in the a$$.

Because the LSM won't point that fact out, so young people will assume it's the Bush administration that's behind it. Just another low down trick the Rats are using to get the young vote out for Kerry.

Yep, everyone should have to give their time to the government in the name of service. Communism I think it's called.

Yes... that's what we need. More draft dodgers off to Canada. They will need to make their memorial BIGGER!

Geesh. This rationale is just the type if idiocy I would expect from a lunatic liberal like McDermot.

I think this way McDermott can say he voted for the draft before he voted against it.

Sure. While they're at it, why don't they introduce legislation to require everyone over 65 be painted bright blue? Both would have the same chance of passage. *ssh*les.

Rangel has been pushing for a draft since before the Iraq invasion.

It's the DEMOCRATS who sponsored legislation for a draft.

Recall that is primarily the dems who are blocking drilling in ANWR and “screaming” about dependence on foreign oil at the same time. It is the dems who were (some the more radical ones still are) trying sell the “bill of goods” that the war in Iraq was “for oil.”

Should anyone be surprised at the above facts?

This is a carefully calculated move on their part. They know that the MSM will carry it on their front pages and make it sound like it's Bush's idea, and the dummies will buy into it. It's all been scripted and is now being executed as part of their "October Surprise."

Hastert should fast track this with immediate hearings and let the 'rats justify it before slam-dunking it.

McDermott Co-Sponsors Legislation to Reinstate the Draft (Democrats, not Republicans!)

Looks like the Dems are still banking on Kerry.
Kerry, if elected, will probably need a draft for the 40,000 extra military personnel
that he's promised to deploy.

We need to see some rapid response on this, and quick. Rove has been pretty good anticipating this kind of stuff.

They're doing this so it looks like this is happening under Bush's watch. The Press won't report that it's two Dems...they'll just report there's legislation to restore the draft and kids will link that with Bush. That's the plan. And unfortunately, it will work.
