The longer he stays on, the more CBS heads should roll. CBS is just the beginning. Viacom heads should roll.

To: rwilson99; Miss Marple
Miss Marple had this figured out. To keep him quiet he was told to sue CBS. CBS would settle out of court for an undisclosed sum on condition of secrecy.
Miss Marple thinks and I agree that this is a legal way for CBS to pay Burkett off for lying about who the real source is.
Could the real source be Robin Rather? Inquiring minds want to know.

It's a payoff. They'll go to mediation, sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement, and CBS will cut a check.
Or some Hungarian.

Great, then CBS will HAVE to use powers of discovery and everything comes to light.

Great, then CBS will HAVE to use powers of discovery and everything comes to light. No it won't. CBS and Burkett will collude to keep everything confidential.

Does anyone have Burkett's email address?
I know I've seen it posted in FR.

It's a payoff. They'll go to mediation, sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement, and CBS will cut a check. I agree. With non-disclosure, nobody has to talk. So much for exposing the DNC and holding them accountable before the election... they're gonna skate on this. Geesh.
Not trying to be pessimistic, but this is not the victory we had in mind. Eventually the truth may surface, but not until somebody levies a charge of conspiracy to defraud an election, not just libel -- IMHO.

ROFL! That is hilarious!
Why watch Tv anymore, we have our soap opera playing out.
I do think Killian's family and Staudt should sue CBS. They more than have the case to do so.
To: rwilson99
Ah, does it occur to you that it's a bit ironic for Burkett - who has deliberately maligned/defamed/slandered Pres. Bush is suing someone else, claiming HE is the one defamed/slandered etc?
do a "google' on "malice aforethought" - even if you are a public figure - there are limits - and CBS broke those limits. This is a crime, folks. It's fun to read and make snappy comments, but snappy comments get nowhere. Get serious. Write letters to your editors and explain to fine points of "malice aforethought." Write you congressmen and senators and demand a formal investigation - remind them that just because the democrats are the culprits, doesn't mean they should play "hands off." Make a noise!

Might be time to invoke RICO!
To: rwilson99
Bill Burkett went with CBS News on this over ABC News, the New York Times, and the Washington Post because they promised to work the hardest to protect him and authenticate the documents. ,Burkett - "Cover me and say they're real, OK? Great! DNC is ready to back us up. We have a deal. Bush out, Kerry in."

Yep, it doesn't get much better than this:)
