I thought it was his best speech since the one he gave a week after 9/11.

I cannot help it, but I think, and I feel, that we, as a country, are involved in a truly Great Endeavour.

Dear God Almighty, but I am proud. Proud of that man in the White House, proud of those hundreds of thousands of VOLUNTEERS, proud Legions, who have liberated two countries, and recast them from the molds of liberty.

We may succeed, we may fail, but we will never be counted as standing by and doing nothing.

IMHO, of course.

I have not heard it all but believe that it contained some of his greatest lines.

He's right on the mark about Bush's use of the word evil. They are afraid of that word because if they admit it exists then they have to admit that they aid and abet it

Paraphrasing..

We are going to promote democracy and freedom..
We are going to defeat terrorism and it's sponsors, and it's supporters, and it's instigators..
Those people and nations I speak of know who they are, and so do we.. We are not fooled, and you will pay for your evil deeds...
It is only a matter of time..

We're going to do it with you, or without you..
But we're going to do it..

I'm indebted to Rush. There is not a soul I have yet heard that is better at analytical thought than he when on his game. My Faith in God and Rush's gems on air keep me sane in the midst of liberal hijinks.

We may succeed, we may fail, but we will never be counted as standing by and doing nothing.

Amen.

I agree with you. We are in the midst of something greater than ourselves. When I listen to our President speak of his vision for the Middle East & Liberty for the entire world, I feel blessed. I feel he is sharing a vision he was gifted from above. It is humbling that he has shared it with us.

Like you, I cannot know the future. I can only trust what we are doing is good, it is right, and I believe it is God's will. I know our President is a good man with God's grace enveloping him. I understand given the enormity of what our President has outlined, why he is opposed with the ferocity that greets him each morning.

Succeed or fail, I have confidence that to the best of our abilities we have done what has been asked of us and it cannot be diminished by detractors.

"Get out of the UN"

I used to agree with you. Then I thought, who would get America's veto on the Security Council if we didn't exercise it? That veto is all that is keeping the Security Council sane on too many occasions: we already know that there are UN fellow travelers among us who would agitate to adopt UN positions. Only our veto keeps the UN from acceding to positions that we would otherwise be on the defensive arguing against.

Then there are our allies that would be at their mercy if we departed.

Even if disbanded and formed a new organization created by the U.S. with our allies, eventually it would fail. These organizations always become corrupt.

If we fail to produce a new organization, the E.U. or China (someone) will seek to become the new focal point of power to balance ours. They are already attempting to do so. The U.N. helps prevent that ascendency from occuring as quickly as they would like.

The U.N. is a whitewashed tomb, full of dead men's bones that people walk over without being aware.

?

If we were out of the UN, who cares?

As I said in my post, the UN is the world's greatest redistribution of wealth scheme and we are the runnng faucet. In addition, the great majority of other nations hate us and screw us at every bend.

We need to to become more isolationist and adopt treaties with nations that agree on basic economic and security issues. In the world of tomorrow, we need to be nationalistic and isolationist or we are dead meat.

The days of taking care of the world should end immediately. We do not need to send them billions of dollars in aid. Let charitable organizations send them a $14.95 DVD on "how to".

It was a fine speech by President Bush. I recommend that anyone that hasn't read it take a look over at the White House website.

I wouldn't say get out of the UN-yet-but simply get rid of it and start over with a truly effective peacekeeping organization, maybe based along the lines of NATO.
