I think Max Cleland did the one armed hand off to Burkett when he went to Texas to pull his political theater at Bush's ranch.
To: PretzeLogic
As I posted on a related thread:
Some questions:
1. Is it common for TV producers (like Mapes) to just happen to have Joe Lockhart's phone number handily available to give out?
2. Is it common for CBS to be a conduit to get phone time with Lockhart (with no quid-pro-quo)? If a random person like me calls CBS, can I get them to get me time with Lockhart?
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE TRYING TO FOOL???

That's what I think but don't have any way to prove it. Do you know if any evidence?

I'm in total agreement...he got a "twofer" so the DNC would only have to pay for one ticket

Interesting flowchart.
FYI. Someone posted last evening that one set of the PDF's had an internal date (automatically saved inside the PDF file) that indicated that PDF was created on 02/06/04.
[You can open a PDF in notepad or similar text editor and read information stored/saved within the PDF file, including the creation date, software used, etc.]

You may have to add to your timeline. Carl Limbacher has an article: Kerry Campaign Touted Forged Doc Info in April

The only evidence I have is that I know the DNC is behind this whole mess. Call it a hunch :^D

LOL
You would need probably need some dirt on President Bush that you could trade to CBS News.
If you have MS Word you might test the theory.
Let me know how it turns out.

This may not have anything to do with this time line but are the Clinton / Kerry conversations linked in any way?
If memory serves, Kerry spoke with Clinton the Sat before the 60 Mins piece & again the night after it aired - Thursday night. ????

This is ifiotic.
Why would anyone seriously include "Lucy Ramirez" in a timeline?
"Lucy" should only come into the story as of 9/20/04, as the figment of Burkett's disturbed imagination.
He is a known liar and psychopath. Why would anyone take what he says at face value?

Rather's daughter in TX is very active in the Democrat party there.
I would expect that most 'highers up' have contacts and contact numbers.
The arena of players, after all, isn't that vast. The Fake Docs fiasco has maybe two dozen or less, and many of those named are 'known' persons. So far, the 'degrees of separation' are not that 'separate'.

You may have to add to your time line.
Thanks for the info.
We intend to update the chart as information developes. Just keep it coming!

The last time line I looked at had just one line. Time typically starts at the top or left and continues down or to the right. As far as I know time doesn't move backwards (unless you have access to the WAYBACK).

The DNC ad Fortunate Son, featuring the memos, was released to the media July 20.

You have the Burkett post date as August 2003. Is that correct?

I think you've got it backwards. CBS brokered their pre-existing access to the Kerry campaign to Burkett in exchange for the documents.

Aside from REMOVING "Lucy Ramirez" from this chart, they also need to ADD Ben Barnes.
Barnes' timeline is highly suspicious.
Here we see that the discovery of these documents was the
deciding factor for Barnes deciding to speak to 60 Minutes:
Rumors about the memos had circulated in the Democratic Party and media circles for weeks; in fact, CBS had used their existence to help persuade Barnes to talk. He told Democratic friends before the "60 Minutes II" broadcast that if documents the network was hunting for were foundand were authentic"the election is over."
But then we learn that it was Barnes who called CBS ready to talk just
a few short days before CBS received the documents:
During the Republican National Convention in New York, Rather got a call from Ben Barnes, a onetime Texas lieutenant governor and veteran Democrat who has known the anchor, a former Houston TV reporter, for 30 years. Barnes said he was ready to say before the cameras that he had pulled strings to get Bush a coveted slot in the Texas Guard in 1968. Mapes had long been urging Barnes to tell his story.
On Friday, Sept. 3, the day after the convention ended, Mapes hit pay dirt. She told Howard her source had given her the documents.
This would mean that the Kerry campaign -- which Barnes is co-chair of -- got the documents
first, then CBS received them a few days later.
